that went better than expected.

dumbell bench press

had to go to 45kg dbs because one of the 42.5kg ones was "broken" (read: the b olt was loose and it takes weeks for them to tighten it in this gym). Not ideal, but triples were an ok result nevertheless. I've done a double with 50s so still a wee while to old strength.

Good to hear that you are planning to go heavy, I'm hoping for log and yoke PB's.

nice one mate, see you tomorrow. Planning to go as far as i can with the log, which might not be that much, but hoping to be able to work that 80kg log well. Also, comp weight and distance on farmers and yoke.

Thought of the day: everyone can train and push themselves when things are going well, true test comes when things go badly.

4 weeks till the comp!

did not recover from the wednesdays mental session in time, which meant that the whole session was spent in PAIN! Grin

Log press
3x70
1x80
fx85
fx85 - will get it next week easy
2x80 - in 75 seconds, tried third, but no pressing strength
5x70 - in 75s

Goal in the comp has been upped to 5 reps.

Farmers walks
40m x 30
40m x 70
38m x 100 - the farmers got stuck to eachother in the 20m turn, lost loads of energy trying to get them loose Grin

Yoke
20m x 130
20m x 210
20m x 230 - with 1 drop, 48 seconds

Goal for the comp: 225 for 20m in 20 seconds

Stone
105kg lapped, no chance to the platform

This is my major weakness now, more focus on it next week

Good session considering the pain and aches, but could have been better. Improved in farmers and yoke, and logs was the first proper session, so thats not too bad. Stones will need more focus.

3 more strongman sessions before the comp!

Todays session was a mixed bag. Good squatting, but then ran out of steam. Perhaps this constant pushing is catching up on me, i need a good nights sleep (havent had one for two weeks now) and some serious relaxation to keep the gains coming.

2x180 - first wee high, second sky high, need to get used to heavy weights again. Strength is there.

rack pulls - just below knee height
few sets up to 5x200 before failing with 220 and 210 - just didn't have the edge today.

aye it was!

But: disaster, i am sick. Sore throath, wee bit of temperature and the whole works. Everything is geared towards recovery and will take tomorrow off from work (cant today)
