i only ever use straps for bent over row if my grip is f**ked from deads and 15" deads and on Squat day when i do hack squats cause i've usually done grip training the day or so before.

stop using them, use chalk for most lifts, add some grip training on an assistance day and your grip should catch up in no time.

I think if you are serious about strength training and want a good grip ditch them for as much as you can. Your grip will catch up. I used to use them on upper back work and since ditching them my grip now holds out far longer than my back.

Exceptions to this for me are

Heavy barbell rows
Shrugs

I think if you can ditch them on as much as you can you don't have to train grip exclusively as often.

i relied on them heavily when i first got them and it got to a point where i couldn't grip any heavier than my warmup sets, so i ditched them and gradually my grip caught up from not being able to hold 120 to managing 200 without straps. Didnt take as long as i thought either

now ive changed again using hook grip (due to weightlifting being my priority and it shreds my hands. Being the straps out occasionaly (heavy pulls etc) but only when all else has failed!

I use them for back squats. That's the only time I use them. I used to deadlift with them but just pull hooked or over/under these days, I find wrapping the bar more of an effort than just taking a big breath in, reaching downn to the bar and pulling.
