Well done on Sunday mate, good going for your first comp!

Why is it obvious he wasnt in your bins?

Because it was just the cat scratching about in the corner of the room.

Another crazy weekend flies by...

It's good to get a PB and still be disappointed - definitely more to come there!

Nice one Wink

Strongbow session early this week as cricket Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Joni, Olly, Alex and Craig came up - cracking performances put in by everyone!

Fri 27/4

Log press
70kg x 3
80kg x 2
90kg x 2
100kg x 1
105kg x x,x
85kg x 6 PB

Pretty s**t really, but considering last time I did log I only managed 85kg x 2 at least I wasn't THAT bad. I need to get my skates on now though as both Joni and Olly nailed 100kg logs today!

Farmers walk
70kg x 40m
100kg x 40m left it there due to shin (it has been flaring up again since the start of the cricket season). I also t**tted my same shin on the farmers causing extreme pain so it was kind of a double whammy.

Stones to 54 inches (no tacky)
105kg x 2
130kg x 3 PB easy
150kg x 1 PB
140kg x 2 PB

Getting back on track now, just need to get my shin right so I can attack farmers and yoke again, and need to get my log semi-respectable (115kg this summer is the aim).

Sounds like a good night to me. I woke up confused last week convinced my mate was rummaging through my wheelie bin and opened the bedroom window to look out. Obviously he wasn't and Jen said something like "what the f**king hell are you doing?", I don't know I just didn't want him to let the cats out. Life can be so confusing sometimes...

Good luck everyone, I want to see plenty of PB videos on Sunday evening (although you'll all probably be fast asleep by then!).

Thanks - the only slight problem may be delivery...

As discussed, Friday is fine mate - see you there.

Paul - I'm after a tyre, yes. I want one around 400kg if you know where I can get one - cheers.

OK, been really busy recently (started back at work!) so a few updates.

Sun 22/4

Not feeling too great today (hangover) so not in the mood for Strongbow, sorry strongman. Just did some strict presses - worked up to 85kg x 3 which was surprisingly easy considering how weak I am at present and I haven't done them for ages.

Tues 24/4

Squats
worked up to 170kg x 6

Deadlifts
worked up to 220kg x 2 crap. It's a long road back from the staggy.

Wed 25/4

Axle press
40kg x 5
50kg x 3
60kg x 3
70kg x 3
80kg x 2
90kg x 2
100kg x 2
80kg x 8 Not too bad on these, getting back to somewhere semi-respectable now, just another week or 2 and I should be reet.

1 arm BB rows
worked up to 70kg x 6

Bench press
worked up to 120kg x 5

Wide grip, palms-facing chins
BW x 5
+10kg x 15 lats were already pretty fried from the rows so these were OK I suppose

Seated rack lockouts
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
110kg x 4

Good to see you're still going!

Time to get those squats and overheads up - 300lb front squat, 400lb back squat and 120kg overhead would be really good numbers to hit for you.

Good work recently Joni, sounds like you had a blast in Scotland. Well done on flipping the beast!! Strong pressing, squats and pulldowns especially!
» irish geezer (Go to post)25-04-2007 @ 20:49
On my stag do a couple of weeks back I had 20 Sambuca's and somewhere around 25-30 bottles of various alcopops. Is it any wonder my training has been s**t the last couple of weeks!!

Doesn't purplepaul get a fine for having a gash operation title? You pulled me up on this one a while back and mine wasn't my journal title!!!

Great work on the squats (and deads!) recently Rob. And I agree with Tony - you have more in you on that squat than you are giving yourself credit for!
