Jonathan I just want you to know that I tried my stones on Saturday night (for the first time properly onto a platform) and I loaded all of them without tacky (150kg was the heaviest!). Keep training hard!Grin

Just seen this thread. I'll start a log up Rob, if you can entice Conrad back to the dungeon (or Joni will do) for some more punishment.

I think the wasp was just an excuse.

Jonathan - my max with the log is only 97kg, but I'm working on it!!! Farmers I've not properly pushed myself with yet, but have done 130kg for 20metres in approx 13 secs and 110kg for 40 metres with a turn pretty slowly. Stones - haven't trained them yet - I'm going to B&Q now to build my platform for putting them on. Yoke I am terrible at and have done about 230kg for 20 metres I think, swinging all over the place. Lots of room for improvement for sure.

Joni - of course you can come to the dungeon for some sessions - I've been waiting for Olly to return since his trip but I think I scared him off with my speed on the farmers and my superior log pressing ability.

We could travel up to Scotland together too?

Jonathan will you be competing too? I'll see you up there if so!

You're going to have to start getting somebody to put your shoes on for you and somebody else to load your weights for you Rob so as to avoid injury. Maybe Olly and Adam would be willing to help you out?

Unfortunately I pulled my right hip putting my trainers on to go to the gym. Pretty painful when I bring my leg up or bend down too far, hopefully it will clear up soon

Jonny, we ran out of time for the yoke this week, but don't worry, it will be put to use next week!

Rob calls me sparrow because i have legs like a bird (as in one that flies), even though they are the same size as his Confused

Couldn't agree more mate. Keep up your outstanding progress Joni, I remember not so long back you were only squatting 182.5 (or was that your aim?). 500lbs in well in sight now, go for it!

I would post my raw totals in the league, but I've never maxed a raw squat, bench is 145kg paused, 150 kg touch and go (although I feel miles away from those at the moment), and I've not maxed raw deads in donkeys years. I will max on them shortly to show you how much exactly you will out-total me by.

Speaking of unflavoured protein, does anybody have any secret recipes for making them taste good?


Half a sachet of Angel delight. Got to be tried to be appreciated! Cheap and makes it taste as good, if not better, than any top end protein powder on the market IMO. Try it and let me know (choc is my fave).
