» Benching the day after squatting (Go to post)21-03-2007 @ 21:09
Even 2 days after is a no-no for me. Bench earlier in the week and you will be fine (at least my f**ked elbow was when I did this anyway).

jonny, i am actually just doing the push press for speed and technique work - and the log is where the PBs are nailed Thats the plan anyway. I dont really have any hunger for nailing PBs on push presses, they are just an assistance exercise for log, viking press and axle press in the end of the day

Well done on keeping to the plan!!
100kg for speed work is pretty impressiveTongue

That was funny Olly, you've got to admit it?

I'm having second thoughts about farmers on Saturday as what is the point in making an injury worse? I'm going to rest it until the pain has gone, simple as that.

Great session Olly. You are the king of the high platforms (for now).

Don't get complacent though as there is a fire burning inside my belly for next week! Big Shawn is coming up and I'm going to show you all who the king of the farmers is - f**k the shin, it's boring not training properly.

Big shawn talking of a 400kg yoke attempt! Eek

100kg log, 130kg famers for 20 metres and 150kg stone to 54inches in less than a month is required from you mate.

Yeah it's not too bad all things considerd I suppose - I just sucked at the stones!

I'm glad I didn't try the 150 holds though as my back is battered today!

I'm going to have to figure something out on the high platforms soon - I can't be falling behind! I'm up for some really heavy stones to low platforms with no tacky as that's what strongman should be about - what do you and Olly think? lolWink Well done yesterday mate - you are queen of the stones for this week!

140kg x missed it about 4-5 times. It's not heavy, it's just bloody high!

Finished pissed off, but other than the stones it was pretty decent I suppose.

It wasn't fun losing on the stones to Olly and Joni though, not fun at all. So I'm not a happy bunny, but to be fair they both had great sessions and deserve the results for all the hard work they put in. Bring on next week.

Nice to meet Alex too - the boy sure is persistant!!

Top stuff guys! Shouldn't Tony's total be 707.5kg?

Either way - you all did good!

Probably won't take you that long anyway.

What's your aim on the push press?
» G.F.H. - Vegan Style (Go to post)16-03-2007 @ 22:28

Hey Rob, say hi to big Phil for me, not seen him for a while. I think a trip to Adlington is long overdue for me. Easter holidays - 2 weeks off - no excuses!

Alright Joni, calm down calm down!

Don't want to commit to too many comps and then wuss out at the last minute, so I'm just putting up definites for now. Whitecliffs.
