I am hoping that Bish got 2nd on kegs, and not best.

His deads are coming along nicely, and he wasn't in the last 2.

Think Fe is out. 😞
Would love him to surprise us on DB tho.

think his quite good on DB press. whilst not a bar/axle/log presser of note the dumbell is a different story IMO

I'm hoping he makes at least 2 points up in the DL.
And you may be right, I do think he prefers DB to other OH events.

not great but joint third now? last few events really suit him though no?

Deadlift and stones yes. But how is he on DB. Has 3 points to make up, and Georgian on level point has good deadlift I'm told?

I'm only expressing concern, I think tel is great, and really wanting him to qualify.

Thor 1st again. Easy win, as you'd expect in keg toss.

Comp at EBW 3/7/16

Unfortunately got a sickness bug the Monday before the comp, which wiped me til Thursday! But was determined to still compete.

Weighed in at 79kg.

Event 1: max dead
Pulled 190-205-210(to win on count back)
Although I'll admit the 210 took all I had. Had to go lay down afterwards. Nearly passed out. Eyes felt like they had disappeared into my head.
But hey, my 1st ever event win.
1/6

Event 2: 80kg log for reps
Managed 2. Was happy enough with that. Really had to pull myself together quickly after the deadlift.
J5/6

Event 3: tyre flip into farmers
The tyre went well, was pretty quick, first leg of farmers went well, but on the drop and turn, one handle slid a foot more than the other and fell over. Lost time getting it right way up so decided to pick it up as it was. This made it very hard to pick up speed for the last leg.
5/6

Event 4: 100kg front squat for reps
Only managed 4. Legs and back had nothing.
6/6

Event 5: 90kg stone over yoke
My wife and daughters turned up for this which spurred me on. After a tentative first 2 reps (first time doing stones in years) I ended up with 8.
5/6

Finished 5/6. So again I feel that I fell short. However, I gave everything I had in me on that day, so was ok with it.

Took me a long time to recover from this one.

The_Lone_Wolf said:With my recent changes of my training schedule, training on Saturdays is a bit of a hit and miss affair. This weekend I could have trained but decided to take the weekend off to rest and hopefully heal up. The glorious beauty of a lay in until 9 on Saturday morning was very welcome, and when I got out of bed to start the day the missus said we could have an early fathers day lunch. Jackpot!

A nice little trip to GBK in town and I had inhaled mounds of beefy goodness and was happy with life.

Overall it was a good weekend with some welcome rest and food. Life at times is very good!

I was surprisingly chipper this morning when I got out of bed at 5 and got the training rituals underway. My plan to squat was slightly at risk as I could feel my groin not quite on point as I was getting dressed, but it soon went away after a good warm up and dance routine.

To test the waters, I decided to work up to a decent weight for a few reps and play it by feel. Then drop down for some volume.

Warm ups done, time to get under the bar and get squatting.

Bar x 10
70kg x 5
120kg x 5
150kg x 3
180kg x 3

Belt on

200kg x 3

Belt off, time to be a knob.

120kg x 10
120kg x 10
120kg x 10
120kg x 10
120kg x 10

Done!

The first positive is that I didn't feel any pain when squatting, so that is the biggest positive from today. The triple with 200 was a bit slower than I'd like, and the last rep wasn't the easiest of my life, but I got it done. Considering it's the most I've squatted for about 5 weeks I'm fairly content... Hopefully things can pick up now with some good luck.

The idea to do 5 sets of 10 was one of the worst I've had a long time mind, as I was bordering on puking a few times. I'm such a bellend.

I also used my squat shoes today and enjoyed it, along with focusing on some ankle mobility as I've got a lot of tightness in my left ankle that has come out of nowhere. I filmed from behind today to mix it up...

Top squattage

My plan is to work reps on the squat and deads and bench at a moderate weight.
I hope for 200 x 11 deads and 190 x 10 squats and 120 x 10 bench Septemberish. This is prob a better plan than going heavy whilst reducing my body weight.

Afeter I get to 13 stone I will re-evaluate and concider where I go next.

Seems like a plan.
