» why do so many people hate cross fitters ?? (Go to post)14-05-2014 @ 12:38
Wods? What does that stand for?
» just for fun/thing that other gym members do that grind your gears (Go to post)14-05-2014 @ 12:37
OK so this has probably been done already but I wanted to know what other people do at the gym that want to make you pick up a 20k iron plate and beat them over the head with it lol so let me kick off the rant.
I hate it when people get shed loads of plate out all over the gym and don't put them back.

» Touch Your Toes (Go to post)13-05-2014 @ 22:06
If you not used to touching your toes and why would you you may find it hard at first.I'd recommend standing feet shoulder with apart fold your arms bend at the waist and dangle this will stretch your hams calves and lower back, once you have masters that try touching the floor with your finger tips feet shoulder with ,then feet shoulder with again bend at the waist and put you hands together and point them just in front of you on the floor, then to your ankles then fjust behind you feet.within a few weeks you should easily touch you toes.never bounce in full stretch, hold stretch for 15-20 secs for about 3-4 times and try and relax into the stretch good luck,as a kid I did these type of stretches for tae kwon do and as a result when I can drop into the splits at 18 stone lol good luck

Fair play. I'm sure you'll get results if you work hard and believe in the routine. Like you say you wont know till you try. Good luck fella.

Thanks worth a crack I'll post what I think off it after 10thweek or so :-)

What's the rest of the programme? If you write it all out it may be easier to tell through context what the exercise is.

So today I did bench press (flat) 5x10
Weighted dips 5x5
Puase bp flat(coz don't know back bench) 5x8/ note that back bench is supposed to be 1x8 ????
Flat bench flyes 3x10
Zotterman curls 4x10
Dumbbell kick backs 4x12
Plank 2x1min side planks 2x30secs each side.

Why are you starting a routine if you don't know what all the exercises are? If you don't know that as a minimum how have you determined that it's fit for purpose, hence worth doing?

I can see what your saying however I know all the other exersises and replaced the back bench press, with paused bench.also no in e over really knows if a program is fit for per pose until you give it a crack and at a glance it looks solid enough...except me not knowing what that one exersise is.

ystradboy79 said:Possibly just means flat bench as opposed to incline , or maybe floor pressing ( benching with your back on the floor and no bench? To me the fact they say press and not pull rules out anything that actually targets back.

Good point.

As I've have said this will by be my first visit to sldl land so do you use dumbbells or barbell ??
» SLDL and what to do. (Go to post)12-05-2014 @ 14:35
Hey I'm starting them this week too but I'm gonna start of the floor coz think I've got to work on balance first after a while I may start from deficit. Having never done them I'm assuming of the floor to start with is gonna give me enought stimulation for now. If you havent done them before may do the same ???
