No but this is a lives ambition for me :-) :-) is it hard to do what sort of strength you need is deadlift ,squat, numbers ? I was also told you can do it if you open the door nearest the middle of the car leverage but that's not really bad ass is it lol

samue1son said:Why do people insist on talking to you during your workout? What happens if you strike somebody to death because of such a moment?

There's a really nice lad in my gym. Not super strong but athletic looking; approachable and such - talks of his interest in strength. But he lies, he lies so much about his numbers. I was sat down doing my deadlift break and he was like (after I offered to share) "I'd jump in with you but I'm deadlifting for my hamstrings" (he's struggling with 90 stiffleg), or some such response which was fine. Then he started chatting and asking questions so I carried on listening. It's my own fault I guess. He manages to get on to numbers ..."I'm quite strong for my size. I'm 97kg. I'm strong enough to powerlift but my deadlift lets me down". "I squat about 260" he says. Pauses, looks at me. I nod once and smile. "I bench.., I do.., 190". Looks at me. I nod. "but I only deadlift 180 - it's my weakness"

Squat 260. That lying s**t bag. I wanted to say there and then "dude, you don't need to lie. There's only you and I here and you struggled with your 2 inch dip squat at 200 suited three weeks ago". But, I didn't say it. I just let him carry on with his bulls**t. Even these nice guys, full of s**t man. Full of s**t. I just wonder what would happen if I was going for 200 (PB that would be) and offered him in the set. Would he decline? Would he pull out this amazing strength that eluded him for his whole life previously? Would he make an excuse? Or would he try, then collapse under the weights, screaming for my help and mercy. Whilst I go over to him, peer over his collapsed body and whipser "shoulda told the truth punk" before walking away and telling the old lady on reception he needs help.

Actions speak louder than words.don't see the point in telling porkies.although I did tell an accidental lie.I was chatting to my mate about bench ages ago before being able to bench 100k I was like yeah I can do two plates aside lol went to gym couple of days later loaded up 85k and realised my mistake then out of total guilt told my mate and the other fella I'd made a mistake.we now have a saying when people are talking be....its a two plate lie...I can now bench 200k honest lol

PS thanks for link on your post just to make this clear though im not actually doing gants program I just realised it was similar, and thus wondered if I was doing to much, and as for this kinda periodization not working I guess I'll find out can't stop now I've started I'll post my results see how I do :-)
» lamar gants 8/5/3 deadlift program (Go to post)03-05-2014 @ 17:35
Well i usually put 100% in unless im not fully recoverd from monday on which case about 95%. Yeah finding the volume really hard going mentally and physicaly.trainner gave me the program to do but he is a bit of a freak when it come to strenght think he forgets not everyone is able to do what he can lolbut four of this rep range left think i may do the test at may be 75% maybe.

OK so deads second workout of the week back felt better after doing a the Monday session.
Dead lifts 8x120
8x160
8x160
8x165
8x170
Felt nice experimented with pointing toes slightly inwards but not to much as 1 to much pressure on outer knee and 2 might look a bit odd lol,but using my feet this way made the lifts feel tighter,
Snatch grip deads, first time doing theses so went really light,
120x5
120x8
125x8
130x8
Pulls latpull wide 5x10
Reverse chin up style pulls 5x10
Single arm rows 5x10
Power shrugs 160kx10
180kx10 4 sets
Leg press 280kx20
310kx20
400x15 3sets
And that was that felt good. Bench coming on well but that another story :-)
130x5
