Maybe I'm a little naive here, but PL'ing has a multitude of feds to lift in - tested and untested. Why would a drug-enhanced athlete compete in a tested fed?

Fazc said:They are meant to feel tight yeah, but if your calves ache you may have had them on too low. You'll get most benefit from the wrap on the knee and above rather than below. I start with just one loop below the knee, then wrap upwards and finish in the middle. You don't need too much below the knee. I think they were too low, with a few loops below the knee. Cheers.

bertie said:If they feel tight and uncomfortable you've probably got them on right. All i did was look on youtube for vids on how to put them on, and played about for what way suited me best. Thanks. I read on here once that Tom Martin knows he has the wraps on right if they make him bleed! (or words to that effect )

After squatting tonight I decided to try my knee wraps for the first time. Oyf are they meant to be so uncomfy? They felt completely weird/alien. And now my calfs ache like buggery. I only did one squat with them lol How best do I progress with them?

I'm guessing there'll be *something* in Pitlochry, but Perth might be the closest place to get something decent.

Steve said: Why the law of thermodynamics doesn't apply in the way that is being suggested http://rdfeinman.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/metabolic-advantage-... Interesting article, thanks. The science lost me a bit about half way through Can you explain to me, in simple terms, how my body would end up with reduced body fat, if I am consuming fat/protein to a caloric excess?

Steve said: It is suggested that eating a low carb diet actually allows you to consume more calories and still lose weight. I think that's a misconception. Law of thermodynamics, or something.

Like any diet you have to eat less cals than you consume, so it's likely you will lose muscle as well as fat. Ergo, you'll likely lose a bit of strength. Lowcarb diets are fantastic for fat loss but most people seem to struggle with exercising/lifting when lowcarb. See how you feel, but it might be best to use the diet to lose the fat, accept a bit of strength loss, then revert to eating some carbs after. If you haven't done lowcarb before, you'll most likely feel terrible until your body fully adapts to burning fat.
