I'm into my 2nd cycle and really looking forward to testing some maxes
in a few months time.

Cheers.

I have done 7 cycles. Deadlift went from 170 to 220. Squat went from 140 to 160 (probably a 170 but not tested recently). Bench didn't do as well. I really enjoyed it and will come back to it later this year (I'm doing a 12 week 5x5 just now, just to mix it up). I'll probably come back to the 531 variation for powerlifters where you do singles 2 out of the 3 weeks.

The max DL sets totally wiped me. I never really did too much assistance work on those days. Cleans before, shrugs after.

Looks like an assistance exercise for the butterfly swim stroke. Mental tho.

You can chose any rep range you like, the thing is to do every rep as close as perfect as possible. It dosent matter how much reps you do or how much weight, the reps should be perfect, that's what build strength.
If you know you can control the weight to do perfect reps, then you are strong. If you have to cheat or rush the reps, the weight is controlling you.
Is that simple.

Cheers mate. Can't wait!

I have had a bit of success with that in the past. It would certainly keep the weight up. Could be a good shout. Cheers.

Hiya - I've been running 5/3/1 for about a year but fancy a wee change going forward. I'm thinking 5x5, doing 5 sets of 5 with my top weight and progressing slowly but surely.

With a squat pb of 160 where should I start weight wise for my 5 top sets? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Wow, great film. Oly lifting really is a thing to behold when practiced this well.

I was actually looking at the Strength Shop UK belts. I ordered a 10mm version only to be told they had none left in stock and that they've sent a 13mm version for the same price. Result, I think Happy

Hey everybody....first post! I'm thinking about buying a belt. It'll mainly be for heavy (for me) singles in squat and deadlift. I've been happy training without one for the last couple of years but, moving more weight now, I think it makes sense. What do y'all prefer in terms of belt thickness? Cheers.
