Bolt false start, wow. Blake wins.

Also Farrah lost and Bekele dropped out mid race. Pretty strange day.

fctilidie said:All the pundits had been saying for the last few months that he was going to struggle at these championships, after watching this I think it's safe to say he's the favourite.

This was probably before Tyson Gay called an end to his season over a month ago, Steve Mullings got caught cheating and Asafa Powell got injured last month and decided he wasn't going to compete last week.

Those 4 together would have been fun to watch. Yohan Blake is still pretty decent, as isLlemaitre but Usain is clear favourite once again.

I'm more interested in the 10000m though. Bekele is back to race for the first time in over a year, it'll be interesting to see how he fairs against Mo Farrah and a few others.

Anyway, tomorrow is great for sport - athletics until 1, F1 after that and then Man U v Arsenal.

So this 19 year old kid is pulling 695 x10 touch and go? damn that's weak! He can probably only pull like 850-900 for 1.

You guys are hilarious.

I finished with a 1543 total. My squat is off quite a bit right now, since I pulled my hamstring training for the RUM last year, I just never gave it time nor a chance to come back up in strength, I just felt the squeeze was not worth the juice.
» mysterious hip pain (Go to post)30-04-2011 @ 20:25
No normal stance stance not much wider than shoulder width. I haven't squatted consistently (although I do seem to do random "tester" squats every few months - I'll go up to say 100-120kg and realise my hip is f**ked) since August and I haven't deadlifted since November... and nothing too impressive, best gym lifts were 165 squat and 200 deadlift (85kg bodyweight).

I have however experiemented a bit with sumo stance deadlifts.

I've also tried all the normal rehab things of ice, rolling the area on tennis balls and foam tubes, ibuprofen (+ gel), lots of stretching (can almost do the splits now!).

This suit thing was just an idea I was throwing about in my head since I used to love squatting and deadlifting.

Alright, I've had pain in my hip for a year now, doctors have looked at it, physical therapists too, I've had an ultrasound and an MRI, nothing has been found, although the pain is always there and I'm just sick of not being able to train my lower body.

Anyway, I was thinking of picking up some briefs or a squat suit to train through it but since I've always trained raw I have no idea of how this will help with pain/injury management.

Thoughts?

Also: I have further appointments, one coming up in a few weeks with a hip specialist (yea, it took this long to get this far with the NHS) but it's just frustrating not being able to train properly.

I'm also wondering if anyone has any experience with DMSO or links to sites with advice on using it? I've seen it sold on strengthshop but there's not much discussion on how to use it.

Thanks.
