milsy said:deadlift blocks got here today turns out if I use them on there side with a rubber matt ontop they work as a good box squat

top service as always

Nice one. Yeah, good idea to use them as a box actually!

fong said:my lever belt arrived today. gonna give it a whirl on max squats today. great service though.

little nervous considering i've got one lot of holes left til i'm busting out of your biggest size. is it safe to start drilling more holes in these or what?

Glad it reached you safely and quickly. Yeah, fine to punch more holes if you need to.

Yeah, with the Thors, it purely personal choice, some like them mega tight (Terry and Jay Hughes use XL elbow sleeves!) and others want them more for warmth and a bit of support rather than 'spring'.

We never plan the promotions in advance, but there are no plans to put it on a special at the moment.

Luke27 said:Okay , thanks definitely tempted by the price

Price is good, but unfortunately they won't stand up to a heavy beating. We've put a rating of 100kg on the site, which is low, but prefer to be realistic. Ideal for schools etc where folk aren't moving crazy weights!

No problem Fong. Tried the back support myself for the first time on Monday, felt awesome!

granty said:Hi Buzz, long time no order (cashflow) im not sure which spider tackey to go for either the comp version or the light one? my friend bought some of the cheaper tacky off you and we found it horrible, we had to heat it up then withen 5 minutes it was hard again!

So the question is light or comp version of the spider tack?

Cheers for the order. It depends a lot on temperature. Sounds like the Hot Wax you're talking about, and yeah, if it's too cold it's pretty much impossible to use. We now use Spider comp or light all the time, depending on the weather (roughly below 10 degrees then light is best, and above 10 comp grade is best). Also so much easier to get off which is a bonus!

Nice one!

Re the warning/website, as Wise Boar says, there was an issue with conflicting SSL certs (which happened on Friday night late on). Should be fine now, but if anyone else has any issues let us know.

No problem David. Strangely DHL were working on Good Friday, so we worked too, and must have just got your order in time to get it out that day!

Thanks for the order, it'll be sent out tomorrow morning 1st class post.

Oxman said:Just a quick post to say how good your bands are. Got the no.2 reds to start with and now got the no. 4 greens for reverse band stuff, great quality and usual fast delivery. Cheers!

Glad you're happy with them!

sexymikehowarth said:Kettlebells arrived this morning!

Thanks Brian!

Advisory to purchasers of the bands (oxman my red 2s are great aswell)

Look after them and don't let them catch on power rack edges or squat racks

I've have accidentally made a small tear in my band which I could have prevented with better care

It does still work fine though

No problem Mike, glad the KB's arrived ok.

Yeah, we did the same with one of our bands, now has a 'nick' in it, but still using it without any issues. Does give you The Fear when using it though Happy Always advisable to keep away from j-hooks/rack edges etc though.

MethodDan said:Hey Buzz,

I bought a pair of Odin wrist wraps in November and the velcro has worn away on them (the plastic hook part), so they don't stay closed. Is there anything you can do??? Cheers.

I can post a pic on here if that helps.

If it's within 6 months we're happy to exchange them upon return. Send an email through to info@strengthshop.co.uk for details and we'll sort it out.

fong said:you've got the old style rehband knee sleeves, any chance of the elbow ones coming in at all? cheers.

It's possible, but not likely to be honest. We sell the knees from size S though, so a lot of people just buy the smaller sized knee sleeves to use on their elbows. I've got stick arms and the S knees are fine for me!

Courier company will be the make or break imo. Did the buyer email you a label or any details about them? Or just tell you when they were picking up?

Thanks
Will open a case with the police when I finish work
I have read that they almost always side with the buyer. Assholes

No probs, if you need any more advice just let me know, but I'd say just gather as much documentation as you can. f**k knows why they always side with the buyer, I'm sure in most of the cases where it's happened to us, it's just someone who's bought something, then received it, and decided they didn't want to pay for it. I spent long periods on the phone to Paypal about it, but it's a very automated system, they just tell you stuff read off a script, and don't even give any information (if they even know) exactly why the claim/chargeback was actioned.

If address is confirmed by Paypal it puts you in better stead, but will still be pretty tough to get your money back imo. Definitely good to get proof of collection from the courier, this is the first thing Paypal will ask for in a dispute. Phone them up if you can find them (the carriers) and see if they can provide something showing proof of collection and also of delivery. Phone the police to open a case anyway (Paypal will likely advise you to do this anyway).

We've had it happen 3 or 4 times, and even with proof of posting, they've decided in favour of the buyer every time.
