Hmm, yes, the farmers were rather impressive. Though thankfully, the flu bug we sent you all in the mail has taken it's first few victims. Happy

Lifting with the D-walker tonight as Jono is MIA.

Squats
8x60
4x90
2x8x100 - was tempted to up the weight on these but pretty glad i didn't. Weight is easy, but endurance cardio side is damn evil. Solid sets though.

Bench
8x60
2x8x90 - easy. glad to get them. was supposed to do 85 but seemed wise to up it, and still not super close to max effort.

Shrugs
8x92.5
3x8x120 - Did them instead of rows, which i normally would have done, but don't really feel i get much from shrugs. Think i'll stick to other stuff, and mibbie just throw some in every once in a while (unless my neck has disappeared tomorrow that is )

150 per hand is fine as long as it's a high pick up Cool

What secret you bas***ds? I hope it's not the same as ours (dianabol smoothies for the next three months).....

But you wanted heavy? Ah, or maybe you just mean heavy for Olly and Jono? Happy
» Sugden vs Edinburgh (Go to post)20-10-2006 @ 14:25
Hmm, not sure why but I now have a strange feeling we are going to lose... Confused

Joni - you are talking a good game with the heavy stuff, but do you really want 120kg farmers, and 300kg yoke? If so, then say the word, and we shall go head to head at these crazy time mofo weights Wink

Eeek! They're trying to psych us out now! Eek

Aye, end of jan is fine. Maybe propose Saturday 27th Jan 07? Though any time is ok for me really. There's a Scottish novice comp happening sometime though, so will have to make sure it doesn't clash, as we will both be entering.

Nice non disco session, first of the new routine;

push presses
8x20
5x50
2x8x60 - easy, but cardio

power cleans
2x8x60 - easy but cardio

deadlifts
5x120
2x8x135 - easy but cardio

that's it. felt good Happy

Make the farmers 100kg no? Do you say 95 coz that's what weight the ones at markinch are? If the pick up is an issue we could raise them a bit?
» Sugden vs Edinburgh (Go to post)17-10-2006 @ 15:06
Fair stuff. So we're talking log, farmers walks, stones, and medly with a flip?

Sounds good to me. Anyone want to suggest weights? Log for max weight? Farmers 100 or 110kg? stones 80, 100, 110, 120, 130, and 280kg tyre with some other stuff, or we could do yoke and flip?
» Joni 212.5 Squat PB (Go to post)17-10-2006 @ 11:43
Agreed, the mats are pish, but soon we will have the cult shed of doom, so it's just a temporary set up. Jono doesn't like them, but they don't bother me really.

p.s. Good f**king squat!

What, do you think we would just make up events we think we would be good at? Eek Wink

It's basically a car deadlift hold (without the car), which is an event commonly used in strongman. More for grip endurance than anything else.

Log and medley sounds fine to me. What sort of medley are you proposing?
» Sugden vs Edinburgh (Go to post)17-10-2006 @ 08:22
I say keep it simple and just have the one weight, other than for Jo and Kathryn. As long as it is a weight that all can lift (theoretically) for at least 1 rep, then the placings and points will be distributed accordingly.

Ok, so what events are we talking? Jono has proposed stones and farmers holds (both fine for all strength levels, and we thought to have the farmers weights at 110kg, but a high pickup - how does this sound to you guys?) What two events do you want to propose?
