If the Wardinator is coming down to 80, then the 24hr weigh-in is cancelled and furthermore there will be a re-weigh-in at the start of each event as the athlete approaches the platform

I wholeheartedly disagree with a 24 hour weigh inn for a comp of this nature, obviously my opinion is worthless, as I don't compete anymore, but it becomes a u90 comp, mabie more ! Not good for the smaller man

As said in the other thread the Arnolds is a 24 hour hour weigh in so you would be putting the Brits at a disadvantage not using the same rules.

I must be honest, I have mixed opinions. I like the idea of the 24 hr weigh-ins because you can wake up the "morning of" with just one thing on your mind and thats lifting.
But it would definitely suit me personally, to have same day weigh-ins, I woke up this morning at 77-78kg
All it would do is handicap our athletes when they get to internationals, to have kept their bodyweight so low for a portion of the year, when the other countries dont do this

I understand the Arnolds connection, but in real terms, it no longer becomes an u80 competition, just look at some of the guys at Europes u90 , its getting as silly as the ufc...215 lb guys fighting at 185, and they are lean n mean !

No you wouldn't as when then Brit's get to go over to the Arnold's they will have a 24 hour weigh-in like everyone else.
This is no different to having very high stone platforms / no belt cleans / no straps / no deadlift suits at different competitions - You play to the rules of each comp.
Simples!

If you can't see the difference between sitting in the upper year 80s year round vs dieting down to 80kg for a day of comp weigh in then I am not sure what else I can say.

Probably best just to say nothing then

why would having a same day weigh have anything to with weighing upper 80s all year? it comes down to a week or 2? you can lose 7kg over a week right?

Not in here guys please, its really not worth it.
What I'll do closer to the time. 10 weeks out from the comp, I'll have a confirmed competitor list. I'll put it on here nd here and you just need to put for or against next to your name for 24hr weigh-ins and if more than 70% of the guys want to go against the international trend, then we'll go for same day weigh-ins.
As I've said, it would actually suit my own cause a lot more to have same day weigh-ins but I do think that we have a better chance of sending a higher standard of athletes to internationals if we follow their template regarding weigh-ins
Its ages away yet, dont burn yourselves out arguing on the internet for 6-7months

That's the thing about comps that are "under 80kg" "under 105kg" or under anything... It implies the competitors weigh under that amount

I don't give a s**t
I'm winning either if it's day before. Same day, between events it don't matter
I'll break you alll
