Only on squats though, not so much on deadlifts.

Another quick one. Right now it looks like I'm getting 5kg out of my belt? WTF Confused

Are you suprised because you think you should get more or because you think thats a lot? For me personally I feel I get a lot out of a belt, not sure how much but a fair bit. I would say a lot more than 5 kgs.

I used to get 15kg ish out of a belt. I dropped the belt initially to strengthen the core somewhat and hopefully push my my squat further but nothing much has happened by the looks of it (apart from my beltless lifts are up) and my squat looks much better.

I was hoping to squat 230kg this year but it's looking doubtful now, I guess 220kg will have to do! Belt wise on the deadlift I get a huge amount as I pull with a rounded back. My best deadlift beltless is 240kg... Eek

Todays session (23/09/08)

1) RACK SQUAT + BLUE BANDS

60kgx5, 100kgx3, (add bands), 100kgx1, 120kgx5

2) BENCH

60kgx5, 70kgx1, 80kgx1, 90kgx1, 105kgx1, 115kgx6

3) CHIN

Bwx5, 20kgx9

4) SIT UPS

Bwx5, 5kgx13 ----- bwx4 (drop set)

NOTES;

Another productive session. Raised the rack squat up another 2" and it actually made it harder rather than easier, band tension kicked straight in off the pin and was brutal from there on. The bench was a PB hopefully i'll be able to squeeze it out to 120kgx5?

Heading back to uni tomorrow so will have to change to the power rack to do my band squats. Max out on Olympic squats, bench and deficit pulls later this week then heading back to Sheiko, 190/132.5/230? My deficit pull is weak as s**t, get this upto 250kg and I should be good for some gains....

Nice benching mate. Rack squat with bands sounds tought too

Do you just put the band around the saftey bar and barbell, and when you come back up this creates the tension on the band to help with the final 3rd of the squat?

I do it ghetto style Grin I put the bands thru each itself on the bar and then stand on em. Power rack isnt locked down so the only way I could do it. Means the blue bands dont give a ton of resistance but still enough to make the lockout tough (from the rack I have done 170kgx5).

Have you used the bands much in your training before? I've been tempted to try some myself, although i will probably use them for deadlifting.

Yeah, last year I used them exclusively for 4-5 weeks and my squat went up a good 10-15kg,bench around 10kg aswell. Only used twice for pulls, I can lockout around 340kg from the knee's so need to work the bottom end more first! Happy

Todays (24/09/08)

1) SQUAT (beltless)

60kgx5, 80kgx1, 100kgx1, 120kgx1, 140kgx1, 160kgx1, 170kgx1, 192.5kgx1, 200kgx1

2) BENCH

60kgx5, 70kgx1, 80kgx1, 90kgx1, 100kgx1, 107.5kg, 117.5kgx4

3) CHIN

Bwx20 (no pause at bottom, no leg kicking)

4) LEG RAISES

Bwx20

NOTES;

Good session. Bench wasn't so hot today but meh. First time I've done 200kg squat without a belt so fairly happy with that. Stalled midway through but managed to lock it out. Gona max out on the deficit pulls working up later this week.
