nice PB on the bench press........but HELL YEAH to the PB on the jerk!! Only a few weeks ago you were struggling to hit 80kg so 85kg is a big improvement.

Do you think it's just down to the consistent of lifting, or did you specifically feel like something "clicked"?

I can now get my elbows alot higher and it just feels easier and i dont mind going for it. To be honest it was a little bit of a push out , but I'm shooting for 90 tomorrow!!!! cant wait

knee was dodgey today so left training for tomorrow give an extra day .
Looking forward to Sunday as hopefully Alex will be down at the uni !

Met up with Alex(beard of iron)

Had a great session and he gave me many good pointers , can remembert all the reps and sets but overall jist.

Glad you enjoyed the session mate, excellent work on your PBs and hope today was the first of many more (PBs and sessions)! Your snatch DL in particular was a new exercise to you but got better with each passing rep!

Btw your 160 squat was paused if you recall. Happy

Had another relatively good session. i say relative because its still s**t but good for me.

Good work on the snatches mate. To hit 4 on a row with max weights is really good. I wouldn't worry about the odd ugly one, there's not many world records lifts that a picture perfect!

I don't know whether it will help with the cleans but what I do is rotate my arms slightly so that my elbows are pointing backwards. This way when you go to receive the bar you can just bend your arms and lift the elbows high, rather than rotate the elbows, bend the elbows and raise. It just feels a bit quicker and more of an efficient movement.

Thats sounds pretty good, once i get underneith it standing up is even a slight problem, same with cleans if i catch it i stand up with it like it nothing!
i think your idea in the snatch will help alot.
Going to hang snatch alot as well to get me to drop faster + snatch balance with heavyish weights.

The small powerlifter in me feels guilty for not going heavy on bench or squat since Sunday.

Problem is the weightlifting session are taking f**king ages , so when i go to squat Im quite literally f**ked. However next week I will Heavy squat after my weightlifting and bench on non Olympic days. Hopefully all the jerks and cleans will be enough stimulus.

Apparently to get intop crossfit games they have to take videos.

Todays was

Snatch 30kgx30 then snatch 60kgx30 then go for a max snatch after that.

Im depressed that crossfitters are required to snatch 60x30....and i can only do it like 3 times.

Good work on the PB's mate, still really consistent as well hitting a pb snatch 3 times!

What's causing the bruising on your legs? Sounds like you might be throwing your hips forward instead of 'scooping' the bar with your hips, maybe?

Are those crossfitters supposed to do 30 snatches as one set??Eek Every now and again I do a high rep set. I've done 80x10. It's weird because apart from the lactic acid burn the lifts were really fast are probably more efficient movements towards the end of the set.

Yeah mnate they've got 10 minutes to do 30x30kg snatches and 30x60kg snatches.

Complete madness.

And I think the bruises are coming from cleans where the bard is hitting quite hard of my legs, or I'm just hitting in the same place every single time and its from repeated small hits ? Or maybe on one rep i just got it wrong and completely smacked my legs, not really to sure.


I feel like if I could get my elbows through my clean would go wayyy up, but still so tight in my lats. So I think as I stretch my lats more, my clean will go up
