Finally found a comp for myself! (thanks milsy!)

have emailed them to put my name down.

The events look solid, but still somewhat brutal for my strength and fitness level. Will be exiting to start training for a comp again!

Anyone else?

How many Aveling and Porters are being shown? Is the steam plough club going to be there too?

As long as Thomas and his friends are there, it should be a great day.

it took me a bit of sweet talk as well Grin

think about it though mate: its not novice, but a light opens, perfecto! No crazy high deadlift or overhead, doable events so that at least can have a go at everything.

I think that I'll enter this one too. Only 5 days before the UK qualifiers. So it will either drain me or make me battle hardened. Hopefully the latterTongue

The answer to both questions is - yes.

I was just a bit unsure as to the problem.

Just thought it might be a bit too much. But I also think 100kg deadlift for 100 reps is a bit too much Happy. Is there a chance you can qualify for the uk's???

I should be OK to do both. Despite not getting any younger I seem to recover from training/competing better than ever before.

Realistically, there isn't much chance of qualifying but - who knows? - hardly anyone may turn up. With more practice; farmers for distance could be a VERY good event, I've always pulled trucks quite well, enjoy loading and the deadlift is improving quite quickly. Still can't press/log press to save my life and I'll lose a LOT of points from no repping there.

I think that about the top 5 or 6 from this comp go through to the next stage. If only 8 or 9 show then we'll see.

EDIT: The relative standard (compared to the Midlands and the South) in the North has been poor for about 4 or 5 years now so if some of the big boys only do BSM then.......
