Okay so looks like the mrs is planning her hen do on the 10th or 17th or April

I have put name down (and paid for) u90 southern qualifiers on 10th....

she has said for a while (before I booked it) ... 'what if something comes up'.... where i have said 'it has, the comp'......

but did she know about wanting her hen do that weekend prior to me booking the comp?
who knows....

she said she would like it on the 10th and then i could have my stag do on the 17th... as there aren't many spare weekends if any before the wedding.... but i said id rather her have hers on the 17th and i would rather do the comp than have a stag do if thats the case, im not overly bothered. (its got to be a sunday to suit my guests), but i could just go for a beer one night anyway doesnt have to be an all day thing

furthermore, she said 'well you are doing the other one too'... meaning 'yorkshires strongest man'..... but i didnt realise we were f**king counting!!!

so basically.... am i being a t**t or should i call the wedding off or what?

i know there'll be other comps, but next year i will only be SM training from around late Jan at best due to work, so will not be in the shape I feel I am getting in this year.

as it stands i have told her to just do whatever if its the 10th so be it

even more pissed off today as i found out i failed first uni exam today only got 30% (needed 40% FTW)

think she is being a tad unreasonable there mate you cant move the comp but she can move the hen do

but you could pull the duty card that weekend, id swap a duty for that weekend so i was doing friday/sunday and then there is no point in going up the line and you go the saterday for the comp

It's 1 strongman contest vs. having something she can bring up against you for the rest of your marraige. Cut the contest and go to another qual some other time. Do it for your happiness, do it for her, and do it because this sport isn't going to get you anywhere (unless you are the top 1%). Good luck with it dude, but your lady is way more important than a f**king strongman contest.

FFS Pompey I presume you wonna be with this women forever (you are getting married) and plan on doing this once? Bite the bullet, make her happy!

If you were in with a chance of winning and qualifying for bigger things I might have said something different but there loads of comps knocking about.

Cheers for the comments lads.... I am in two minds. I did say to her its her hen night its more important.... but, if its just a case of her having it on the 17th and it doesnt matter then why not suit everyone?

With your geeky looks I thought you were still a virgin. Congrats and forget about the comps, you can compete many many times in your lifetime but theres only this one wedding (well, hopefully). Don't lose track of whats important (wedding) and whats not (a hobby).

i can agree that a whole marrage and life with the woman you love is much more important than 1 competition .... but this is somthing that can be easily avoided , you can both still do your stuff ..it just a girls night out

this is why we got wed at 11am on a sat morning for 50 quid with no-one there ... romance isnt dead !!
