There seems to be a fair bit of evidence that taking non steroid anti-inflammatory pills like asprin and ibruprofen may reduce muscle growth after exercise..

I used to take quite alot of asprin and ibruprofen but maybe i'll stick to paracetomol now!

I personally prefer the stiffest possible.

I believe it is indeed true but if you are in pain then you have to weigh up the odds. I have never seem negative effects from nsaids

Some evidence has been around for a while. Dosn't seemt to hold back many that use these substances.

My knee and bicep has been in agony for the last week or so and ive been on ibruprofen 4 times a day. Wouldnt event consider not taking it given that i probably wouldnt be able to get out of bed.

I believe uk sport are funding a few studies in the run up to london 2012 looking at the activation of muscle satelite cells following training while giving a NSAID or not.. it will be interesting to see the results..

If, as for many, the options are "use NSAIDs" or "don't train", I know which one is going to be more damaging to progress...
