I`m same as you in the rack but off blocks can pull more?? I kind of put it down to the bar bending less before the plates come up on the rack if that makes any senswe.

Member 194, 3976 posts | Partial deadlifts have thier place but they are that at the end of the day, all the top deadlifters do use them. 18inches is a big high in my opinion, especially if you are below 6ft. Was watching a vid of Cleggers do one t'other day, with the flex in the bar it is actually above his knee before the weight breaks. Personally I think partials if training for lockout power should be done from at least and inch below the kneecap, its a horrible position to pull from but if you can break the weight from there and lock it out if you miss your deadlift line you will have the brute force to correct the lift. Plus if more of the gays on here did them properly and powerfully they could stop all this hitching bo***cks and actually get stronger as a priority.

OLD SCHOOL SUGDEN Member 212, 11439 posts SQ 325, BP 212.5, DL 370907.5 kgs @ 100kgs UnEq | In Strongman .. they have 18" Deads .. they have 15" Deads .. they have standard Deads .. they have Axle Deads,Car Deads,...Reps - Singles.. Basically you have to be good from every height and with every implement .. AND all this bollox about it favours the shorter man .. f**kING GOOD .. Coz 90% of strongman events favour the taller lanky streak of piss ..

Member 194, 3976 posts | MarkClegg said: AND all this bollox about it favours the shorter man .. I agree there, one thing people seem to forget is the basis of physics, as in for example at St Ives we drew on the Silver Dollar, now you had less distance to move the bar, but due to being of similar build but taller I am obviously heavier so have more muscle to move it - it all evens out at the end of the day so who cares, just get stronger.
