I found it gave me around 20kg on the deadlift with great pop off the floor. It gave far more than that on the squat. Yes it is difficult to breathe in if you have it tight enough but you'll probably find all suits will be I'd fitted right.

IMO it is far superior to the hardcore as the material is far too stretchy on the hardcore. Yes it may be more difficult to get the correct fit in the Titan as the material has less 'give' in it. It only costs a few quid to get adjusted at an alterations place. My Titan suit was adjusted probably 6 times before I was properly happy with it.

I ment basic in reference to suits such as the Inzer Z-Suit and the Superior which Titan states as a basic entry level suit.

I think it's personal preference aswell, I like the fact that the Hardcore gives some rebound out the hole, whereas the Metal Viking doesn;t really rebound, more of a stopping suit, with some rebound. I'd say for 1RM the Metal is the best of the two and for reps with straps up and belt ontop it'd be the Hardcore, just based on the fact than I have to wear my Viking straps down with the bent under the suit to actually hit depth.

I've been told several times that a hardcore was a basic entry level suit, fairly forgiving, didnt lock up if you hit the line wrong. If you can get a loose centurion i'd go with that as theres the rebound on the squat which is a massive factor also if you turn the suit around it turns into a different type of suit, the natural shape of the suit forces your back into a locked position, and it torques up very tightly at the bottom of the deadlift. So i still go by a tight superior or a centurion which has tight straps but is not necessarily very tight on the hips, to allow you to hit depth with lighter weights.

Inzer hardcore- not alot of bounce, can't deadlift in it.

metal viking gear- all about stopping power, so s**t for deadlifting

Metal king gear- need alot of weight to get down, so not so good for repping lighter weights, if you can get down it's the tits

inzer fusion-can get lots of air in on deadlift due to low cut on straps, no idea how it is for squatting

Nathan - being a big guy I can see why you would go for a suit that is a little more forgiving such as the hardcore.

Will - think my suit is a 44. My old one was a 46 I think that I kept getting adjusted as it loosened til it was just right.

i know f**k all about gimp suits ect but for me the Inzer Fusion (oversized too) has been the best suit by far for deadlifts and for squats too.

Used Joni's Metal suit, inzer hardcore and Max DL, and a Very large Titan (Basic) and the Fusion is by miles the best one for me.

I take it 2ply isn't allowed in strongman?
I say that because from my experience a really tight fitting pair of Metal briefs are the best for deadlifting and squatting imo. No need to worry about straps.

I was thinking about this t'other day.

depending on the event would depend on the kit for me.

I would say or suggest (and bear in mind I know f**k all aside from a gym repping or comp powerlifting point of view)

Deadlift/Squat for reps freeweight/axle etc - a looser single ply suit would do well, fusion for deadlift as it has more give.

Deadlift/Squat for max - do as the powerlifters do - tight kit

Deadlift/Squat on a frame - looser breifs would suffice here I would imagine
