We have debated this on here before now. There is no doubt that it is simply extreme good fortune and no skill is involved. But you are the only one to actually do it, so I had to ask. Congratulations, bet you can't do it again

Excellent. Congratulations. I would say well done, but I'm sure you understand

A rather awkward four

Got there in the end. Annoyingly I used the old openers on a whim. Had I used the usual ones I would have got three greens with the opening shot.

Fickle !!

This all went really rather well tonight. Just the two of us, Jim and me, as we prepared to leave we both realized something - neither of us had switched the lights on. This led to the added bonus that we didn't have to switch them off either. It still being daylight outside, we left the lights off so that we could see it better :-) Happy days.

A lot of scribbling was needed but once I hit on the correct placement of the variables it didn't take long. Finding that variable was not in any way swift.
AvatarBod
A green three.

Usual opener followed by an alternative second, given how the letters had fallen. Decent slice of luck to get it in three, but second guess guaranteed a five I think? Or I was hoping that it did at least.

Same here, damn Bod and his exquisite wordle skills to the flaming pits of Hades and back :-)

I would have said "a nerve-wracking and mildly terrifying six"

Very little to go on after the usual three openers and myriad options to try. Managed to fluke the correct option with guess four - so large slice of luck number one.

I now calculate that I have five possibilities left and two attempts. Could not think of a tactical with four of the five it so had to settle for one with three, all of which turned out to be wrong.

Two options left and one remaining guess. Both as likely as the other in my view, so I plumped. And plumped correctly. That's large slice of luck number two.

Phew indeed
AvatarBod
A fully clenched six which taught me a valuable lesson as to why I should stick with my trusted openers! I began with my usual opener and gambled on the second, which led to an absolute s**tshow. If I had stuck with my usual pair of openers, it would have been a guaranteed three and I wouldn’t have had to resort to a fully clenched, tactical fifth guess.

Sorry to hear that Wayne.

A fairly straightforward four

Tried a few arrangements of the known letters before hitting on the most likely one, and once that was discovered it was a short walk to the answer. Wasted some little time on one that simply wasn't possible (Oaf!).

A damned sight easier and far less worrying than yesterday.

Guess three gave a possible recipe for disaster as presented more options than guesses. Allowed myself a punt for guess four (which was wrong), then had to go tactical for five which thankfully gave the answer
