youngy | Wrist Wraps IPF Legal? | 29-05-2009 @ 11:38

Probably benching or squatting I guess. Anyway I'm looking to buy a set of wrist wraps off of pullums that are IPF legal and that I'de be able to use in GBPF unequipped competitions. The only thing I could find in the IPF rule book was that they shouldnt be longer than 1m in length which seems a bit excessive so I'm unsure. Are there any specific requirements for length and whatever?

I have the knee wraps (which I know you cant use in unequipped meets) so I'm guessing that means the wrist wraps and knee wraps are legal. Only other thing though is that valid for unequipped too?

never too old Member 637, 760 posts | Yes, there are regulation on the unequipped stuff. Just pick from the list to be safe. Alot of non legal stuff is (im lead to believe) only illegal due to names etc on the wraps/belt that havnt been sanctioned by the IPF No, knees wraps arnt legal for unequipped, but are for equipped meets.

Where are these rules for unequipped lifting written down? The IPF don't have any rules for unequipped lifting so whether you have to use something from the approved list is surely at best unclear. I certainly wouldn't have thought there should be anything wrong with using eleiko wrist wraps (which aren't on the approved list, but are no different to approved wrist wraps) seeing as uneqipped lifting isn't currently sanctioned or controlled by the IPF.

some nice relaxing jazz. Member 77, 12599 posts SQ 265, BP 165, DL 280710.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | Up to 1m wrist wraps are IPF legal (IIRC) and hence GBPF unequipped legal. Any decent brand will be acceptable and the correct width; Metal, APT, Inzer, Titan etc etc.
