That was a great performance from mariusz but I think that zydrunas' performance in the 2009 final was even better. Admittedly he did have one bad event with the arm over arm but I think he never looked like losing that year in what was probably a stronger field (more multiple wsm winners and poundstone back when he was near his peak) and z looked like he was cruising along at times. As good as the field was in 2003 there were a few guys there like karlsen, virtanen and samuelson who were getting to be past their peak by that point. Still impressive how easy mariusz made everything look though. | ||

Its not about who is the strongest, fastest, best record...its about who has the most hart and who can win over the people. Z is the greatest...of current times - I agree and a likeable chap  ... but not of all time. Its like comparing Arnie to Yates or whoever is Mr O nowadays?Shaw ...leaves me cold tbh. Push pressing has nothing to do with it. Hall can strict press more than anyone. The idea he cannot push press because of some patella issue is rubbish-if he had f**ked knees he wouldn't be banging out super heavy squats. He's a strategic thinker. He saw the furor surrounding Benni's questionable 1015 deadlift and decided to put all his eggs in the 500kg deadlift. Can't blame him. He's way more famous than many of the ppl who have WSM trophy. He'll be the Kevin Levrone of WSM. | ||

The weights these guys lifted were laughable. Mariusz is the closest legend to the current crop, and perhaps he could have adapted to compete by becoming heavier and taking even more gear and coke-if that's even possible-but the Z and Shaw era is leagues ahead of the rest. | ||

He'll be the Kevin Levrone of WSM. anyone who saw ed in his first few comps saw he started with knee issues , if it flares every push press session youd never be recovered he's training the best way he can so that he can recover , energy wise his technique is pretty taxing tricky to sustain a press out with blacking out , eventually cleans will jump up and take far less out of him to ensure he gets a alltime log pb imo | ||

If they offer him 50k for 240 log he will do it. No one else in the world can strict press 220 IMO I did 170 strict log once and people were like holy s**t when are we gonna see you on WSM lol... I'm just a fat powerlifter... Hall is on another level! | ||

Hall is on another level! no he didn lock it out above head, he couldn, he pushed it forward and this is the only impressive pressing from him in competition ever when he starts pressing 220 logs on regular base then i can believe u 240 log is possible by him u talk like a fanboy 208 x 2 strict axle means nobody except Hall can strict 220 ok buddy | ||

Hall may well get there too though, depends how much longer he continues competing/how much he concentrates on log. | ||
