I like front squats, really get your quads burning.

Very good exercise. Some people struggle with them at first because they don't like the grip or the bar sticks in their throat but if you get your chest and elbows up and the bar resting on your clavicles it isn't nearly as arduous as some people make out.

Certainly good for quad strength.

well they're great if you're quads are your weak point, i.e. you fail your full sq's 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up

well mate, the only place to fail a squat is in the hole! front squats are good, esp for knee stability.

many ways of looking at it:

powerlifter - as an assistance exercise to develop quad power

strongman - assistance exercise for numerous events from stones to log to whatever

oly lifting - self evident

lift in its own right - its a cool lift Wink

etc...

Its a great exercise. I personally don't do em as I havn't the flexiblity to perform them in the clean position and the arms crossed way knackers my shoulder, and hence impacts my benching.

Shame as I would do them regulary as a quad movement to supplement my squat training.

try doing them with your arms out stretched instead

Or use straps if you lack of wrists flexibility

Sivvy mate, i wouldnt do fronties right after squats because i'd be knackered by then. I'd rather have them on a light squat day, or anything else but thats just me.
Good move though!

Top tip boys. dont do heavy fronts if you're going on a first date. The bruises look like love bites and you'll never get laid.
