I thought the OP was joking about the depth.

if the camera is below knee level from a front angle like this then squats look deeper than they are.

Is it beyond the ken of man to film a squat from the side at a decent level?

It goes without saying that Lillebridge is a great lifter but..... there shouldnt need to be a 'but'.

Supper squatting though

He has trained like this all his lifting career, usually hitting a heavy triple, double or single to failure on the main lift, every other week.

Whilst still making great progress why would he change, and what do you think he should be doing?

If he is maxing out four days pre comp he is stupid under every method of training out there regardless of what you do in a normal week! Which is what Gates was thinking I guess?

But its four weeks out, which is a fairly normal time to hit a max or close according to most training theories.

Strong either way!

Really? Admittedly depth is sometimes questionable from him, but I wouldn't have said this is one of those instances

Yeah its not exactly obviously to proper hip crease below knee, IPF-depth..

It will definitely fly in his federation but it really sucks that they feel like they need to add another advantage to the extra long kneewraps and monolift, with the slightly higher squats as well.

One has to wonder whether its the system that works or just ever-increasing PED dosages. Sometimes it seems to me like these sessions are more like technique work than actual training. Volume just seems so low overall.

When I've been thought squats I've been told they should be at least hips down to knee (@ very least) is this correct? If how I've been thought squats is correct then his squats are at least the min requirements from what I could see. Don't think the camera made them look deeper at all, anyway great squatting strong as f%&# :-) :-)
