strongest person still has to win no matter the depth. I like z and congratulate him on winning. It's just way some people worship him that gets me Happy

completely agree mate. If it was to full depth Id love to see them judge guys like Z and warrick brant, it would be impossible.

Because its inconsistent. The side view (the only accurate view) looks like he's quarter squatting and bouncing off the bottom. I guarantee other guys have either got to squat either so their thighs are at a lower angle or with a shorter/ longer rom. Its inconsistent tbh

I remember a stones session back in 2011 in Pikey Dan's garage where JT used the lifting technique that Thor employed.

He clearly therefore invented it and Thor owes the old rubber face repping machine some royalties.

If only JT was a foot taller and 20 years younger he would obviously be king of stone Grin

Only if he was allowed to wear 300 layers of neoprene Grin

I also remember this session, JT for WSM 2015?

Squat looks the same as in 2011 and 2012 , front angle depth looks perfect .
It's the same for everyone . Z and Eddie are monster squatters .

Im in utter shock that shaw finished third when hes in the shape of his life.
The only way the events could have been better for him was if there was max dead instead of squat.

I agree. I really expected Shaw to win this comp relatively easily - not by a huge point spread mind you.

Max dead may have done it for him as he would have likely placed second (some think he's ahead of Z, but the Arnolds said otherwise). Then again, if Z hadn't screwed up the Kegs he would still have won with a max deadlift in there.

Shaw was the strongest he's ever been , but he was too heavy I guess . This made him slower .

Shaw is in great shape. At Arnold's he 2 repped the 200kg log, 1128lbs deadlift and 10 reps on squats at WSM..so statically he is a monster. He won truck pull which was heavy, the loading was running around with a tyre on their arm, not a great test of strength. If they put the stones to a decent weight he would win those as well.

All in all Z has proved himself to being the best strongman this year, come next year if Arnold's brings back stones and WSM brings back farmers and yoke(both likely) I think Shaw will dominate.

The video someone posted from the front makes Z's squats look like their to a decent depth. And if everyone is squatting to the same depth I don't see the problem.

I'm ecstatic Z won. The GOAT imo
