But what we can do in training means nothing come comp day, Lichfield I dropped 10kg to in 3weeks and I paid the price, but Rotherham's I was 100% and you excelled smashing P.B's left, right and centre. I got beat fair and square whilst weighing 13kg? less!. I still think Yorkshire's could go either way. Good luck in the juniors by the way. | ||

Bench 60x5 100x5 120x2 130x1 felt easy 140x0 failed mentally before I even lowered it 140x0 brought it down to high on my chest stupidly got close but just couldn't drive it through and wasted loads of energy on the last lift. Definitely can do this weight. 120x6 PB tried for a seventh rep but it just buried me. Squat - wasn't expecting much as legs were still a bit tired from Mondays comp. 60x5 100x5 Belt on 140x3 felt heavy Dbl ply wraps loose 180x1 felt good Wraps tight 200x1 felt good 215x1 PB felt like it took and age to get out the bottom but he said it went up quick and reckoned I've got a potential for another 15kg in my current condition. Just that took 2hours and although I was getting a rest it still went really quick. | ||

Duck walk 60kgx25m 100x20m 120x20m 200x5-10m pb quite easy. Hammer holds think they weigh 10kg each 107secs 50secs | ||

Deadlift 60kgx5 60x5 100x5 140x5 180x5 d.o.h 220x1 260 kept failing. Recorded an attempt and my form is shocking. Barrel loading 90kg to top for a couple of demo runs. Felt heavy. Wanted to go home but was persuaded to do to some more. 90.100.110.145pb managed to get myself focused and did a really quick run including loading the 145 which I've never managed before even on its own. 90.100.110.145 even quicker this time :-) | ||

Event 1 320kg Yoke 25m -3rd Heaviest comp Yoke I've done, felt really good. Dropped it once due to trying to go a touch too quick, still had a quick time. Event 2 120kg log -0reps 15kg above my pb but had been talking myself I to doing it all week. Got there and the log was really awkward even when empty. Really hard to clean which I never struggle with. Luckily 4 other people didn't manage this either. Farmers - 115kg 50m -5th Was supposed to be 130kg but the rain and Cobbles meant it was reduced for saftey, shame as my grip would have helped on the heavier weight. Put in a good run, was only a second off 1st it was really close. Was sitting 4th at this point, then it all went wrong. 260kg Van deadlift 15" side handles -9th Completely lost my head, didn't get my air in, didn't tense my lats etc, pulled it and threw up in my mouth and twinged my back. Only got 1 rep. Rubbish Barrel 25m medley. 2 70kg plastic and 1 100kg beer keg. Put a good stint in on the 1st two, then just burnt out and failed about 20m down the course. Devastated. I came 7th overall 1 place off a guaranteed spot for UK u105kg. I went into the comp just to enjoy it and tried not to come last which I didn't. But after the first 3 events I thought I was on track for a good position. Was disappointed with myself. Got home and got home and had a message to say 1 guy can't make the u105, so I've managed to get a spot into the uks. | ||

I've got 3 weeks till uks so time to get started. Warm up Axle clean and press every rep. No supports or chalk 50x5 60x5 70x5 80x3 90x1 90x1 was struggling to clean 90kg as my hands were slipping. Axle deadlift no supports 90x5 d.o.h 130x5 d.o.h 130x1 d.o.h no thumbs 170x1 d.o.h 170x3 mixed 210x1 3 singles at this weight. Very slow lifts but grip was there. 10mins of pad work for a bit of cardio Gym closed | ||

Leg press 100x10 150x10 200x8 250x8 300x6 350x5 felt my back go a bit :-( this should only be 80% my max too. A set of light leg extensions waiting for the rack. Squat 60x8 100x6 140x3 160x1 back was causing an issue Ham curls 4x10 6x10 7x8 7x8 7x6 Single leg extensions 20x8 20x8 20x6 Seated calf raise 25kgx15 3 strict sets. Mega pump and couldn't be assd to go heavy 20mins on exercise bike | ||

No leg drive, no squeezing the bar, bar path is wrong... 135x1 2board bench 130x1 140x2 150xfail. Technique again. Some light triceps work, lots of reps. | ||
