Good session tonight. Back still the same.

Squats:

165 x 5/5/5

f**king difficult. Maybe going slightly too deep for low bar on some reps.

Bench press:

92 x 4/5/4

Spotter touched bar on 5th rep of first set ever so slightly to stop it hitting the hooks as I set up too close to them. On last set never had a 5th in me, got totally pinned.

Deadlifts:

190 x 5

Very difficult, especially after squats. Form probably a bit worse than last time, not where I want to be going, but after squats I'll take the reps.

Squats:

Light enough, but just feel awkward when the rack is really squint against the mirror. Obviously I try not to look at the mirror, but my preferred eye gaze spot is around 6 feet in front of me which unfortunately clips the bottom of the mirror.

Press:

70 x 5/5/5

Easier than I thought they would be. Was going to go for 69 but the 25s were handy. Maybe it's because I was facing away from the mirror, or maybe it was because I was using a different bar than I normally use for the press, or maybe it was just a good night.

Deadlifts:

195 x 3

Disappointed in only getting three reps. I tried my 175 warm up single with double overhand as opposed to hook grip, which was stupid as I know from experience if I fail a double overhand rep it f**ks me up for the rest of the session, and I couldn't budge it so had to do hook grip. And maybe it was my grip that failed as I just couldn't budge the 4th.

Mere survival. Excruciating. Most difficult squats I've ever done. Did these facing away from the mirror too. If I did RPE these would be 10.

Thinking of changing my programming on squats. I don't think I can sustain the current progress. Thinking of switching to Madcow style programming on the squat, since it worked before.

Bench press:

A bit lighter than light squats usually feel.

On sets with 72 I wasn't keeping my lats tight and my elbows were in the wrong position I think. Disappointed after Monday's pressing. Did a back-off set with 50 to get some work in and make the corrections.

Chins:

bodyweight x 6/6/6/5

Not too bad but trousers ripped and didn't want to totally ruin then before my workout really began, and low back and glutes were feeling tight. Plus I was using an awkward rack set up, too. /excuses.

Bench press:

80 x 10/10/9

A little disappointed about missing the last rep on the last set.

Power cleans:

80 x 3/3/3/3/3

Nothing difficult here. Getting back into these because upon reviewing my log, I set PRs when I clean.

Last set might have been 6 but can't remember so will write down 5. My press has obviously stalled. Going to reset it.

Deadlifts:

180 x 5

Reset my deadlifts because I wasn't happy with back position. A bit happier tonight overall, although was failed to pull the slack out of the bar before the pull, leading to jerkiness off the floor and losing back position slightly.

Happy with this. First set worst as I set up too close to the uprights and hit them once.

Decent session tonight. Back the same as usual.

Quite difficult. Think I'm sliding forward into my knees a bit too much as they feel a bit awkward after squatting sometimes. Perhaps mainly on heavier weights as sometimes I feel a bit too scared to lean over enough. But none of this is for certain.

Press:

65 x 5/5/5

De-loading these as I have failed too many times in a row now.

Chins:

bodyweight x 7/7/5

Bodyweight increased to mid 90s now.

Some stretching then home.

Average session tonight. Knee still not feeling right. I'm going to add the excuse of a little less sleep than usual. Gym was really busy tonight.

Squats:

Not too bad. Bit tiring though.

Bench press:

97 x 5/5/3

A bit disappointed about the last set but still a PR.

Deadlifts:

182.5 x 3

Meh, failed the 4th. Not really sure what's up with my deadlift; perhaps it was the aforementioned excuse, or perhaps it was the squats, or perhaps it was the bar (I don't like deadlifting on the bar I used tonight).

Very difficult. Think I have a bit too much knee slide going on, and an excessively tight right hamstring.

Bench press:

97 x 5/5/4

One more than last time. Last rep of first set was an absolute grinder, so happy to have gotten another set of five and then an extra rep compared to last time. Just need to keep in the groove.

Deadlifts:

182.5 x 5

Better this time. Different bar, and took off my shoes. Just need to practice pulling hard and keeping tight, and also head position.

Then home.
