Improved my tech a lot

Just before I started training for the British naturals, I hit 240kg, then training for about 3-4 months lifting nothing above 200kg and mostly axle work. all highish reps. Also started front squating which I think helped and hammering my back with assistance work.

Good stuff Bananas I enjoyed watching your vid. You can realy see the improvement in your deadlift technique which has enabled you to lift decent weights. Your back is straight, lifting with the legs in a straight line which looks very good. You said you train around 200kg but can lift a lot more for a single, is this the way to go for deadlift training. I have been trying to lift heavy every week off the floor and 18" alternating and it worked up to a point but ended up pulling a muscle behind my armpit in my upper lat and strength has gone down now. Please could you post a typical deadlift workout for yourself so I can see what you are doing to get some ideas for sensible training ?

alright mate

I only trained around the 200kg mark as I had a comp where it was max reps with a 180kg axle.

I would normally rep about 80-85% in the 5 rep range for 2 weeks then 90-95% in the 3 rep range for 2 weeks then go for a new single.

I think the biggest thing that brought up my deadlift was Front Squating heavy and lots and lots of upper back work:

Kroc rows, bent rows mainly. something like 4x12

Hope some of that helps.
