Hi everyone, my cousin is competing with me in a couple of weeks but he also wants to lift on the same day as me. He weighs 78kg I weigh 100kg and Sunday is 90s and 100+.
Can he compete in the 90s flight while weighing 78??
He knows he's gonna get beat but doesn't care lol!
Thanks for the help lads

Sounds like he needs some dominos pizza in his belly and sand in his pockets.

I would check.

In some sports with weight classes, there is a minimum weight per class.

(Obviously, there is no "danger" to lifting weights like there is boxing - funnily enough, in wrestling you can enter the weight category you like: Dan Severn won the Middleweight, Heavyweight and Open weight categories at one competition; moving from mat-to-mat)

Has he entered at 82.5 class?

I'd check with organiser, not because I think there's a problem going
up a class but more logistics of them expecting you to weigh in Friday
and if he doesn't turn up they'll register him as withdrawn.

Squatting isn't doing my back any good.

This is an easy solution. All he has to do is weigh more than 82.5 and he’s in the 90’s. Heavy clothes, full stomach, drink a litre of water beg weighin.
