There's no need to kill yourself in the gym everytime you train. Going to failure in every set and workout, for most people is training suicide.

Here, here! (As the saying goes).

Friday 7/5/10
Last of the deloads.
Push press
20kg x 10
40kg x 8
60kg x 5
80kg x 1
84kg x 3x3
Pretty easy, but still got that nasty pain in my left bicep/elbow.

Sandbag strict press
55kg x 10

Had a quick mess around with my kegs cleaning a pressing the 70kg one, and trying a few different ways to clean the 92kg one. That's all.

Staurday am
Sled pulling 12 runs (7 forward, 5 backwards)and 4 runs pushing the car. Car pushing was hard, feet kept slipping on the wet tarmac.

Orderd a belt from strengthshop on wednesday, got an e-mial notification saying it was posetd on the thursday, and recieved it on friday! Great service. Belt is much softer than i thought it would be, feels really compfortable compared to my old belt, yet still very supportive.

deload felt a little harder ?

PROOF enough that deloads are for the injured (ie ...me)

sled work is mans work

Deloads almost always feel harder than they should. I would have to put that to blasting throught the workouts with alomost no rest, using no support gear (belt) and not getting a physc on and just going through the motions. (brooks kubik style).
I do think there nessarsary though boar. You can't expect to keep pushing your body every week, hitting p.b's. I'd like to think having regular de-loads is one of the reasons i'm relitivley injury free. Each to their own though

Monday 10/5/10
Bottom position squat
20kg x 10
60kg x 8
100kg x 5
135kg x 2
161kg x 5
161kg x 5
First set felt great, almost light. Second set was a little tougher, kept hitting the stops i'd put on the spotter bars on the way down, on one rep i ended up with one side of the bar infront of them, and the other side behind. But still got all reps without to much of a struggle.

Band pull thrs
3 sets of 24 reps.
Definatley getting stronger with these. On the first rep, i managed to drag my 92kg concrete block foward,(have my bands attached to a big ass concrete block) had to re position it behind another patio slab.

Kroc rows
20kg x 10
40kg x 8
60kg x 6
(straps)
75kg x 30
So hard. Felt like the world was ending

2" thick bar curls
bar x 10
30kg x 10
40kg x 8
48.5kg x 8
48.5kg x 8

Finished with 2 sets of leg raises
Good ses, feeling strong after my deload

Motivational soundtrack of the week. Some days we all need a extra little motivating. Scores like this really get me fired up to lift strong.
It's from the sunshine ost, called katana's death part 2, and is allso used in the film Kick ass when Hit girl attempts to rescue big dady and Kick ass (or it's as close to that as i can find). Really great movie. Here it is...........

20kg x 10
40kg x 10
40kg x 10
40kg x 6
Just burnt out on the last set

15kg x 10
