"Kinda happening" isn't good. Is your rowing coach happy with that exuse? Cool Tongue

As you are a rower you have a well conditioned and above all flexable back used to being rounded. Plus you have power and drive carried over from rowing. I'd actually prefer you to fix the back rounded at the beggining rather than have it collaspe. As Pauls tech is so is yours in making your lockout harder and hence tendency to hitch (note: your lockout will probably always be you weakest phase).

Start getting into a better extended position in all lifts from power cleans to deadlifts to RDL's. Think the weightlifting 'get set' position. You might loose kgs in the short term but you'll win in the long term.

As I mentioned a purposly fully rounded upper back can be no bad thing if done correctly, the above rounding strikes me as a deficinecy in either strength, technique or both.

Anyway well done on a nice pb and 400lb pull!

Many thanks Iain, rowing is out of the question these days, so no need for flexibilty anymore, to an extent!

So, upper back work ftw? Rows?

Yes but practise the deadlift with an extended spins. Force it to keep tight and adjust the weight. If it slips. reduce the load or get a hold of yourself lol

Do RDL's and or SLDL good morinings in the same fashion. Same with squating keep tight.

Do you do any weightlifting moves Power clean etc? Again get in a proper get set position

Ok, I'll give that a bash, really focussing on keeping tight. I do do some power cleans and the like, I'll focus on this also. I have a feeling trying to improve my posture in general (I have quite slouched shoulders) may help also!!

I'll also try some static holds with a light barbell or kettlebell squeezing my rhomboids/trapezius together and holding for a set time. Do you think this may help?

Thanks Iain

Haha, thats me, tall skinny guy!!

Thanks mate, tis a rowing singlet, I think it may be too padded round the legs to be used in a comp unfortunately.

Ripped...thanks, doesn't help much with strength though Unhappy Operation gain some size has begun!!!
