Member 424, 532 posts SQ 190, BP 145, DL 220 555.0 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq	Post Edited: 14.06.2010 @ 20:49 PM by Pint Hi all, Ollie Beard and the crew at Muscle Inc. gym Haslemere, Surrey are putting on a novice comp to celebrate the increasing strongman equipment and interest at the gym and to try and put the new facility on the "strongman" map!! Its going to be an evening event, a bit of a social wrapped around a novice comp. The events are: 80kg log for reps 180kg 'stone wheel' axle deadlift for reps 50kg dumbell one hand overhead for reps Tyre Flip for reps Farmers Walk (100kg each hand) 40meters with one turn Stones onto platform (90kg, 110kg, 130kg) Medley (carry barrel -?80kg? 20 meters -drop into tyre, carry tree stump 60kg, then drag tyre, with barrel in, back 20 meters) 7 events but all reasonable weights, encouraging people to have a go at everything. First timers also welcome. Should be a good opportunity to meet some other strength enthusiasts from other gyms and get fed....!!! Member 1414, 51 posts SQ 240, BP 205, DL 260 705.0 kgs @ 114kgs UnEq	Many thanks to the competitors and everybody who showed up last night, this was very last minute and i was shocked at the high standard of competitors,all 16 of them,and the volume of support,many thanks to Rob Frampton and his strengthtec crew, the ministry of muscle guys and the reading guys, you all did fantastic, next comp will be late summer with an open event too, Ill be putting a faster more efficient scoring system in place too, as im still working out placings this morning, top 3 was bang on Ollie Wildgooose 1st, Andy Venables 2nd Jon Bleach 3rd, bare with me for the rest, ill put them on later Ollie

Highlights Atmosphere Women on display My 19 rep deadlift and stones pb for me Low points Not getting the tyre off the ground Tearing three calluses on second event Late finish but was understandable given the nature of the comp Thanks again look forward to competing at the next one if you don't use crack pipe heavy weights
