 the UK's leading expert in bio mechanics Member 1973, 7379 posts | Saturday 31/03/2012 Midshires Strongest Man 2012 Training hasn't been going so well lately, so was unsure how I would fare today. Target was top 5. Log press - 115kg Always a dodgy event from me, but got three reps, fitness was a limiting factor here perhaps as my press felt strong. 3 reps. =second place. Arm over arm. 7.5tonne truck. Historically a good event for me, smashed it. 16.9seconds, good technique throughout. My first ever event win! 16.9 seconds. First place. Medley. 68kg washing machine. 2 x 110kg kegs. 2 x 100kg sacks. Over 10m. Calf was cramping badly which may have cost me a few seconds. Nice and steady though. 56 seconds. Fifth place. Deadlift. 280kg axle. Deadlift has been hit and miss lately, so was nervous! Was a heavy 280kg though... 2 reps. =Fourth place. Frame carry and tyre flip. Both 300kg over 20m. Frame carry was slow, as usual! Tyre flip was strong, as usual! 1:06seconds. Seventh place? Stones. 100-170kg x 5 stones. Platforms were mega high! First one was tipped back slightly on a slope, must have been 6'6"! 1 stone. =First place... Overall second place! Very happy with my performance today! I really need to address this cramping issue as it may have cost me a couple of points, which on another day may have cost me. Couple of issues with a couple of events, but the athletes and organisers worked together to get it right. Thanks to Les, Shaun and Russ for organising. Well done to Gray who was consistently good throughout, and Karl who took a good third place. My first trophy | ||
