All the guy has done is a brilliant lift (OK, 3 lifts), posted it on youtube and been in the middle of several s**t storms. Personally if it were me I'd be loathe to post any more vids. Mark, to my knowledge, has never shown the slightest interest in going the PL route. I dont see the need to compare him to PL's best pullers, when they are never going to meet. I've never heard the big guy compare himself with anyone. Mark trains for SM, and he trains hard. Physically and mentally. That is his event. If people are to compare him then lets compare him against the guys he competes against. Only by comparing him to the likes of Hollands, Pudz etc are we doing the guy justice, and giving him the credit he deserves. Incidentally, I think that this forum has been amongst the best in regard to the above. Some have been an outright discrace IMO. | ||

I think a lot of it is to do with many people who don't know Mark assuming he is arrogant and believes he is the best deadlifter in the world, when everyone at Adders knows that he is an extremely humble bloke. From what I've read on SDF (Dale Norris AKA WelshDragon) this is all stems from Mark "apparently" telling some other strongmen that he could deadlift more than Andy Bolton - which is probably either totally untrue or just misconstrued. Just give Mark the recognition he deserves (how many men have deadlifted 400kg+?... not many) and let him get on with whats important to him! | ||
