Max singles are done when I feel good mainly. When I did the 136 bench I woke up that day and decided 'today is the day' ha ha. The deadlift was done because of how easy 202.5 felt. It's not set in stone. Building to a set day to go for a big single doesn't fit around my shifts, my wailing daughter, or my temperament to be honest. I did try a popular % based ten week program once and hated it.
Most of my work sets are going after a 3 - 5 rep target, or maybe 3 x 5. It seems to work for me and I like it, although I realise this style of training has been dismissed as s**t!

I could do with shifting a bit too. Having the mrs at home cooking for me is great but I've probably chubbed up quite a bit!
