I like to have space around me when I'm lifting, and having someone in close proximity puts me off! I only ask for a spot if it's really necessary (heavy bench). I'd much rather dump a squat on the pins. 99% of the time I can fail with control. Are you a good spotter? You would enjoy spotting a 300+ shirt bench then Wanye

left the country satisfied Member 10, 19241 posts SQ 240, BP 150, DL 270660.0 kgs @ 107kgs UnEq | safety is the most important reason - rarely comes to it, but when it does you will be glad to have good spotters. But the everyday benefit is encouragement, and the feeling of safety - so you can just focus on the lifting. OSG has tons of great spotters IMO - and goos spotting breeds good spotting when people learn from each other.

as crimson as my last victims underclothing..... Member 899, 11330 posts SQ 180, BP 132.5, DL 190502.5 kgs @ 118kgs UnEq | I've saved a few skulls and spines by spotting. Never really had a problem with it.

tabbouleh and fattoush salads were very refreshing Member 267, 8548 posts SQ 220, BP 165, DL 250635.0 kgs @ 90kgs Eq | Joni said: But the everyday benefit is encouragement, and the feeling of safety - so you can just focus on the lifting. and this can make all the difference when going for PBs. Not only that, if you're not firing, it can make lifts at 90-95% doable on days when you feel like just going home.
