I would be interested in this.

After several months of having sciatica problems and a suspected back issue, I prolapsed a disc. Normaly after a few weeks (like now) I would start to feel ok and get back on it... But just to have it flair up a few weeks later... I need to find a way to get rid of this or work around it! Desparate to get back in the gym!

Unfortunately there is a policy on this forum preventing me from informing you of "something" that really goes a long way towards speeding up recovery of damaged connective tissue (which includes the annulus, or disc). You can probably guess though.

never had a proper blow out like Rick, but i have had some rough patches with my back before. contrast baths can help (its hard wrapping your whole back to promote blood flow so your stuck shivering your tits off in a cold shower, sorry). fish oils supps are the business - get the 1000mg ones and down 8-10 a day, really helps with inflammation (did this for my knee not so long ago and was squatting again within a week).

iv read a lot about people actively avoiding nsaid's like ibuprofen as they apparently can weaken the supporting muscle and ligament, but you may want to look into that yourself.

Sound like a small Disc bulge there is not alot you can do but get physio and in his case if its been a few months and severe try And get a MRI to see what is going on in there ?
I have been through this process as I have had sciatica for the past 5 months and had MRI 3 weeks ago. Results in my case came back with 2 disc bulges so Im doing rehab every morning and swimming twice a week which I ave been doing or the past 5 months had Acupunture , Tracktion table , etc etc It will take time walking in my case sets it off and did get sore as hell where I could barely walk ... As the disc closes in on the nerve and traps it causing the pain and it will release over time when Lying down for example when you straighten the spine out. Itcan take months or even yrs Or if severe an Op is the final option to get it sorted .

I have and will always swear by McKenzie Back Press Ups.

Do reps of 10, 5-6 times a day. Be gentle and gradually work into a more pronounced position.

I have tried this after you suggested it and found it didn't help me with my condition,
But if you have a bulging disc to the rear then from what I have read on this technique it can help.
