18kg in three weeks is going some, too... and those are some jumps on his lifts!

If it's Big Tom aka various other things, it's Chantler, isn't it?

I'd love to know which idiot wrote this, who is Rob?

‘SugdenBarbell.co.uk..... the home of bulls**t’ – By the way, this is a fitting title!!

You basically insulted my best mate / training partner by knowing very little about powerlifting or the lifter.

Craig dropped 18kg in 3 weeks....LOL... Craig said that joking about at the 'weigh in', a little Chinese whisper and it's now gospel. Trust me, Craig was not 118kg 3 weeks out, he was about 106kg and dieted down to 103-4kg and dropped the rest by not eating the night before and having a sauna before the weigh in.

Craig a bomber because of wild openers and depth issues….LOL… Is that your expert opinion??..........Craig will never open with anything he knows he can’t rep and he has never once failed a squat on depth.

When there isn’t the level of competition for you on the national stage, it’s an ideal time to go for lifts that are s**t or bust. You’ll see now on the international stage that Craig will pick his attempts wisely as there will be competition for him.

I see you've taken the compulsory internet course in making a good impression. Rob's the guy who built the forum. His name and contact details are at the bottom of every page.

You basically insulted my best mate / training partner by knowing very little about powerlifting or the lifter.

I hope people insult me by calling me, and I quote, "ridiculously strong". I can live with that sort of insult.

The weight drop was mentioned with an "apparently", nobody was giving it as gospel. If he says it, it's no surprise other people repeat it. It's not an entirely ridiculous thing to believe; Kroc drops huge amounts of weight routinely, no reason he shouldn't too. Glad to know the truth.

If he's never failed a rep on depth, good on him - he obviously knows the judging very well. Most of us are IPF lifters and so we tend to be more conservative about depth issues. And as for saying he looks like he might be taking risky openers, well, twice he didn't get beyond his openers and two of them looked hard. It doesn't seem an unreasonable opinion. If he lifts very differently when there's more competition, that shows he's smart; Rob can only write about what he saw.

Nobody's slagging off your mate, quite the opposite. There's an awful lot of room between slagging off and unconditional adulation. Calm down.

I dont see how Rob's write up can be interpreted as being insulting.

I think you've taken it the wrong way Justin.

There was definately nothing but respect for Craig on the day as there was for all lifters.

Everyone including Rob was impressed by the size and strength of Craig on the day.

I'm not sure if you've had a bad day and just vented over here mate but Robs a stand up guy and simply called it as he saw it.

Justin, I don't want to get into an argument with a well respected lifter and a webmaster of a site I like and visit frequently.

I'm sorry if you feel offended by my write-up, but in no way was it intended to be derogatory to Craig. I summed up the article by calling him "ridiculously strong" - which he is. I wish him the best of luck in international competition and am sure he will do very well.

Like Tony says I just called it how I saw it..

Yeah, I was in a s**tty mood yesterday, but still.

"but he looks like the type of lifter who could easily bomb due to depth issues or going too wild on openers"

Is that not an insult?

I don't think all his lifts looked hard and a bit of a fight.

Rick, thanks for the sarcasm.

Don't worry, I don't think anybody will be calling you ridiculously strong any time soon...LOL
