Maybe if he uses his legs. Z's not done yet though so it's impossible to say what Ed will need to surpass!

I'd say they're closer than that result suggests. Its been said before that the Arnold log is awkward and there's a certain knack to it. Ed would do a normal 205 log in his sleep, he stricted that before!!

Ed (imo) wont get a WR or beat Z in a log contest until he starts to use his legs

And all training I've seen would suggest its of no interest too him

As an aside, Hixx did a similar weight as the lighter Arnolds log for 4 or 5 C&P recently

End of an era.

Thor did 3x 370lbs last year...He done 4x 375lbs this year. Solid improvement. I reckon 1050lbs on the deadlift this year. If Thor comes top 3 at the Arnold's he will probably win WSM with the events being more suited.

Savickas won't retire until he gets weaker. He said he decides every year if he comes back.If he gets stronger and is healthy he continues.
Ed and Graham can and maybe will surpass him when he is retired. If they keep on improving as good as they do now and of course stay healthy.

Surely that does surprise anyone seeing as he is in the top 3 log pressers in the world ?!

I also think Hixxy would of got a rep with the heavier log too .. I think when you use your legs to assist your press you can find a better level of consistency .. With Ed using a strict press slight dimensional differences in the log have a bigger impact .

Take your own strict pressing in the gym and bring your grip in or out a few inches on each side and the difficultly is very noticeable .. Or at least it is to me . Everyone is individual .

Hixxy and Ed will both press 230 someday.

The thing is, wouldn't be surprised if z goes to 235-240 soon if pushed! Scary presser.

I don't think we'll see 240 from him before he retires

I agree. That's a pretty big increase up at this level. Maybe if he had another 5 years. That said, hard to put anything past Z.

I think Ed could equal him given that he still has a lot of years left. He may need to increase his body weight though. At some point you just need more muscle mass.

I'm quite surprised that no one else could even get a rep on the bigger log. I guess it is a little heavier, but quite a few guys did the larger one last year. Maybe everyone just figured that event is Z's so they focused more on the other events.

Today will be interesting. Thor could win the bale tote, as he does have more speed than Z.

When do you predict he will do it?

I think at wsm 15 he will do a 230kg log as i heard there will be a max log.
And from there on he maybe will increase in his usual 1-2kg steps.

Going to struggle to increase in those steps if he retires this year.

At bsm Bryce announced that z said he wants to win Arnold's, win WSM, break the world record in log again, then he'll retire. So max log at WSM could be his last platform to do it on?

if Z is planning to retire this year 240 at worlds no problem
but for sure he wants something special
record that will stay for long

A 240 at worlds won't happen. Not because he's not capable, but because someone else would have to do 230+ to force his hand. Can't see that happening.
