Well which one would you believe. The 42kg less speaks for itself in my opinion.

Well which one would you believe. The 42kg less speaks for itself in my opinion. While he may just not have trained hard enough, or just had an off day, I've watched most of the deadlifts Z has done and I'd be very surpised if he wasn't injured. The first lift he didn't seem to show much strain but was very slow and controlled. When he's lifting heavy and straining on the hummer tire his legs always shake as he locks out and they weren't on this first attempt. He also barely even tried on his second attempt which seems to indicate an injury. He certainly would have known how much a good result on the deadlift would have mattered, so it seems to me he would have given it more of a go if he wasn't hurt. He did 524kg easier last year than that 482kg looked. Regardless, Shaw was stronger this year and deserved to win. Congrats to him.

Member 4049, 134 posts | LaTuta said: What do you mean with expanding? I am not a native english speaker Ahh sorry dude. My apologies. What I am trying to say is. Can you please say more information about the fact that z lifted 42kg less than last year? I think you are using this as the reason to say that z must have been injured. But.. I don't think that just because he is 42 kg down from last year this means he was injured! At the end of the day we all witnessed Ed Hall strict press 211kg with ease and almost get the 220kg. But yet he couldn't lift 204kg! And he is not blaming it on injury... Is he? Sometimes in lifting, s**t just happens! It's the way it is. Shaw was just a better man on this occasion. Bring on WSM I say! Could be the best final yet?

I just wanted to discuss what certain Athletes said about that matter. Warrick Brant said Zydrunas injured himself at the Deadlift and stopped at his second attempt to probably not further injure himself. And then another Athlete Martin Wildauer said he had no injury but there was something unfair happening to him at the yoke.I just wanted to hear what the other people think about that.I think an injury sounds pretty reasonable as he lifted 42kg less than last year and even then he had more in the tank. And he was always extremely strong in Hummertire lift. I am not taking this as an excuse for him not winning the show. Why should i? I am not related or anything to him. Brian Shaw was better this competition and thats why he won it.

End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | Post Edited: 09.03.2015 @ 11:36 AM by Mikeneto Brian Shaw must have been injured. 2 reps of the Austrian Oak last year and no reps this year...that in itself speaks volumes. It's all just excuses until something is actually confirmed.

Getting fat is just as dumb as using PED's Member 3387, 2532 posts SQ 275, BP 200, DL 290765.0 kgs @ 114kgs UnEq | Not that my opinion has any evidence to back it but I cannot help thinking that the long break and drastic weight loss z had didn't help. Also the fact he is knocking on a bit now must play a part?
