I do indeed realize that. It's why I stayed. It was a pleasure to watch. Watching you pickup those weight does actually assist me in my training. It always helps to see people lift well and lift heavy

Monday 17 th May, start 17:00, six days from the comp and it's very warm.

The stinkin' fraternity is well represented but nothing lemon fresh to be seen. "No heroics tonight" says the boss "Singles, up to 500 ish, make 'em snappy"

New suit, no belt, straps down, naked knees

On the new improved Parker racks, Eleiko bar and Joe the Terrible to work in with. All kilos

70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
105 x 5
straps up
105 x 5
105 x 5
145 x 5
wraps on
185 x 2
205 x 1
225 x 1
230 x 1

They all snapped.

That's it for tonight, just before I finished Handsome Jeff rolled in so at least it wasn't a lemon-fresh free evening. I move into resting / working-myself-into-a-frenzy mode now. Very little will be done between now and Sunday. Some gentle benching on Wednesday and that will be that. The new, new suit has yet to arrive but the new shirt will be in evidence on Sunday. This should be my last comp for a while, so it will be blockwork and a new suit to play with. The future, ladies and gentle is really looking rather good. End 18:10

Sometimes I mention it and sometimes I don't, but I always remember

Wednesday, 19th May, start 17:00

A light and very gentle one today as it is the last before the comp on Sunday.

Bench, raw, all weights in kilos

20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
80 x 5
100 x 3
120 x 1
120 x 1
120 x 1

And that's that, the 120s were all paused and fast. Got changed and enjoyed some persiflage with the chaps, once again the lemon freshers were thinly represented but Handsome Jeff saved the day, and once again the stinkin' powerlifters were out in force. Legged it at 18:30 and went to the home of the tubular bandage, girl number one is back tonight, after being missing since the end of April. GoatBoy welcomed her back in the traditional manner. Everyone's a winner when that happens

Your training looks like its going really well Champ. Have fun on on Sunday and I'm sure we'll see some tidy (that's Welsh)lifting.

Thanks for that Bob, Quite looking forward to it. No heroics, just steadyas she goes for the moment. 750 total would be nice. 280/190/280 will do it, and it's all very do-able, just have to get it all together on the day

Just weighed myself and checked my BP.

136.1 kilos or 300 lbs more or less exactly

115/61 which considering the above I regard as chuffin' excellent
dr_hazbun
good luck Sunday Pete. That total and those numbers you have in mind all sound very doable from what I've been reading.

It most certanly is Pete old chap. I am envious, considering that I am off to to the docs on Monday to talk about treatment for my high BP

Popped along to Adders tonight for a chat and Alan outlined his plans for the comp, it is quite uncanny, he asks you want you want, you tell him and then he produces, like a rabbit from a hat, a piece of paper with more or less precisely that written on it. That is talent with a capital "T". He doesn't claim to read minds but I reckon he must do. Too right too often for anything else.

It is not my intention to mislead, I am medicated. But yesterdays reading was low, very low
