Tuesday Bench

Desperately poor.

No band day.

Bar for 10 x 3 sets
40 for 6
50 for 5
60 for 4
70 for 3
80 for 2
90 for 1
100 for 1
110 for 1
117.5 - fail
Finish

I was fatigued when I started, but it often gets better as the session progresses. Today it didn't. After the 110, I just had nothing left. I tried 117.5, but it buried me. Ate properly, had all my supps. My only consolation, based on the 110, is that it's an energy issue rather than a strength one. We try again Friday and hope for a better outcome.

Thanks Marc.

Saturday Bench. Posting a day late. Still fatigued, the only plan was to lift something. If it didn't feel at my limit, lift some more.

Bar for 10 x 3 sets
40 for 6
50 for 5
60 for 4
70 for 3
80 for 2
90 for 1
100 for 1
110 for 1
115 for 1
Finish.

115 felt close to my max for the day, so left it there. Enough to keep me ticking over for when the better days come, if they do. I suspect this week's fatigue is due to a new med I started taking on Tuesday, so I didn't take it Friday onwards and felt marginally better. However, the more I read about kidney disease, the more I read about fatigue, so there may be no magic recovery. But let's just hope it's med related...

Tuesday Bench

I planned to train at 4, but at 4 I was asleep in the chair. Eventually got out a little after 6. Thought of not training, but there will be days in times to come when training will be a thing of the past, when I would give anything to be as I am today, imperfect or not. So I'll do what I can...

Black band today, adds 55 to 60 at lockout. The notional target is 80, but with this fatigue I'll be more than happy with 70.

Bar for 10 x 3 sets
Band on
Bar for 6
30 for 5
40 for 4
50 for 3
60 for 2
70 for 1
80 for 1 - yesssssss
70 for 2
60 for 4
50 for 6
40 for 8
Finish

Pleasantly surprised!! Adjusted my down sets. Dropping 20 and then 3 sets of 5 would have been a big ask, better to do what I can. 60 for 4 was tough, 3 sets of 5 wouldn't have got done. Pleased with today. Maybe there's still hope...?

Not for ages. No training partners, plus went through a period when I wasn't able to press what I'd need to touch. But hoping to do both British comps this year as they're on the same weekend, so that's an incentive to get into one again.

Both in February, venue not given yet. If it's south east England it'll be too big a journey, but if it's more central I'll try to get there. No criticism of the guys in Kent btw, just too far for me.

Friday Bench

Green Band Day, adds 35 to 40 at lockout. Target top number 90. Not 100%, but not as fatigued as recently.

Bar for 10 x 3 sets
Band on
Bar for 6
30 for 5
40 for 4
50 for 3
60 for 2
70 for 1
80 for 1
90 for 1 (recent pb, 2.5 up on last green band session)
80 for 2
70 for 4
Finish.

The plan was a descending 2, 4, 6, 8. But on the 70, I nearly stopped after 3, got my 4th after a battle, but then never recovered to do the last two sets, in spite of a decent rest. It is what it is, pleased to hit 90, a bit disappointed the energy left so quickly, but at least I'm still improving those top numbers

Next session, thick red band and the taget top number is 100, Should be fun...
