» Suspend Parliament...Now what ? (Go to post)28-08-2019 @ 21:48
Suspend Parliament not since :- 1628 Charles 1st. 1655 Oliver Cromwell. 1831 The Great Reform.
1948 The Parliament Act. 1997 John Major with the cash for questions report.

For a gauge on the future look back at history.

Very interesting times indeed.

I know there others Bodybuilding.com/forum.
Muscle Talk and others.

.....Sugden just appears more like an old school gym.

The others are more shiny and corporate.

Happy Birthday Sugden and many happy returns.

» Terry Hollands bodybuilding comp (Go to post)23-08-2019 @ 16:07
I have not posted for a while due to work commitments recently.
But seen this and had to congratulate Terry on his work ethic.

Complete and utter inspiration to all.

Well done Terry Hollands, you should be very proud.

Please write a book Terry, the journey from a superb competitor in strongman to a complete body transformation to the bodybuilding world and the work involved in both, it would sell.

The commitment is clear.

An excellent strongman competitor and this is truly amazing.

Legend.

» Robert Oberst on the Joe Rogan Experience (Go to post)10-07-2019 @ 17:43
Some parts were good, the injuries and the bit about Texas.

Nothing to make it a classic but I enjoy listening to the stories.

I like the fact that he said the USA have a good talent pool for strongman.

I liked the guy but that is me.Happy
» Andy Ruiz out of shape or outstanding ? (Go to post)04-06-2019 @ 23:03
Boxing is a sport where one punch or your mental and physical condition can make the difference.

If Wilder does connect he would beat Joshua on that last performance, fact.

Ali v Frazer March 1971 Frazier wins but Ali wins the trilogy.
Mike Tyson v Douglas February 1990 Tyson had other issues and was not fit or mentally prepared.
Lewis v Rahman April 2001, a silly error Lewis dropping his gloves.

Joshua V Ruiz June 2019, Money, fame or just another lack of judgement in the boxing ring.

Another shock in boxing history.

Well Joshua might be ripped and a fan of hypertrophy but he was beaten by the chunky Mexican.

Wilder would knock Joshua out very easily based on that performance.
» The best survival expert ? (Go to post)29-04-2019 @ 17:17
The other survival people you have to respect are the sea mariners who sail around the world single handed on a boat in the middle of the ocean/oceans in gales, storms and sometimes a hurricane.

An area around the Southern Ocean is too far away from land for any long range aircraft to get to and return to land in the same flight, it is called the "Hole"

"Drakes Passage " "Cape Horn" "Strait of Malacca Lightening Alley"

Happy

I will stick to land and the odd bit of kayaking.

Happy Theresa May, you have a valid point.

Develop a plan.
• Inventory the resources you have.
• Identify the critical tasks required for survival.
• Determination: It’s often grit that separates a survivor from a non-survivor.
• Recognize feelings are not facts. You may feel hopeless from time to time.

Thor Bjornsson is the man at the top of his game and the best in the world at the moment in terms of strength.

Who is the best survival expert ?

Bear Grylls ? Ray Mears ? Cody Lundin ? Ed Stafford ? Dave Canterbury ?
Les Stroud ? Etc..

For me Mr Grylls is a little too Hollywood and commercial.
More about marketing/Hollywood style entertainment than true life real survival and bush craft skills.
Not doubting his background in the SAS and his skill set just the flashy/gaudy style.

» Extreme weight training and extreme pain...health or legacy. (Go to post)13-03-2019 @ 21:29
Some powerlifters, strongman and bodybuilders do appear to be in better health than others later in life.

Dorian Yates stated the muscles have "muscle memory" and he could in theory go back to his Mr Olympia physique.

That would be some muscle memory and some large recollection of mass.
» Extreme weight training and extreme pain...health or legacy. (Go to post)13-03-2019 @ 18:36
I watched the Ronnie Coleman The King on Netflix on the weekend, what a price to pay for a legacy, he has no regrets.

Not for me to judge, but interesting the effect heavy lifting can have on health or is it an abusive of steroids and not taking the time to recover.

He was a big guy and he must have smashed his body to the ground with extreme weight training :- hip replacements, chronic pain, damaged discs.
He cannot walk unaided.
Moving powerlifting weight for high reps must have effect on the body and the bones at some point.

Yet some strongman and powerlifts can still lift at a reasonable level at an older age or they just adjust and know how to back off the heavy weights and understand recovery.

My only regret is that I should have squatted 800 pounds for 4 reps not 2, I knew I could have done four but the coward in me stopped me.
Ronnie Coleman.

Legend or fool ?

You need something fit for purpose.

Strength Shop - Jordan Xtreme/Pro range - Bulldog Gear.
Cerberus - Ironmind - Rogue.

Invest in a decent one and invest in strength.
