I reckon you should perservere with those one arm dead's mate - you're getting up to some good looking numbers but more importantly, it just looks really cool to deadlift with one hand - and the uninitiated could be convinced that you would obviously be able to do double with 2!

So, in view of the above I recommend a target of 227.5Kg one arm DL Wink

Awesome pulling malc! 231Kg!

And benching too, as Rick said 300lb (137.5Kg) is so close!

Are you lifting unequipped at the NW in December?

Fancied having a crack at a squat PB tonight after the session so went for it:

60x5x2 (Don't worry Pete, I was fully warmed-up thanks to an hour of weightlifting!)
100x3x1
110x1
125x1
135x1
140x1
145x1
150x1 - PB

Pleased with it, I'm going to try a bit more of a structured approach to squatting for the next few weeks so I might blog the progress.

Great work - half the reason I came down tonight was to watch you and Pete squat!

I should have stuck around for the 250! Did Jeff get it on video?

Does this qualify as a qualifer for 2009 unequipped?

Alright Andy,

who ended up with my magazine in the end? I'm going to try and pop down tomorrow and collect it (and do some benching).

Many thanks for taking care of it anyway!
» Need a soldering iron (Go to post)28-10-2008 @ 00:28
I'm in pretty desperate need of a soldering iron as a couple of the contact on my immobiliser for my Rover 400 have become loose.

It looks a fairly straight forward job so can anyone in the Manchester/Adlington area help me out??

Any help appreciated!

Shocking I've not updated this in so long!

Squats at Adlington tonight under Pete's watchful eye:

barxlots
60x5x5
100x5x1
109x5x1 (some kilo weights, some pound weights from here on in!)
118x5x1
127x5x3

I thought those squats were pretty encouraging tonight Rick, and great to watch - particularly your top set double! Guttural!

There's a couple of fancy pants places in Manchester city centre - grill on the alley and gaucho grill but they're pretty pricey.

My favourite place does a a pretty good sirloin (although they sometimes have a fillet on special) for a reasonable price. It's called Jem & I and it's off School Lane, Didsbury. Really fantastic place!

Really annoying how it doesn't space them correctly! I have the results in an excel file (along with the 4th attempts) if anyone wants them.

Brilliant lifting, really enjoyed watching it. I have a couple of videos I will post up in the future (Shawn and JC's 205 bench lifts and Boar's 100 powerclean).

alright rick,

what time are you training at adders tomorrow? I may make an appearence but I'm not sure what time I'll be able to come down and since you're usually the last one there I thought I'd come and train with you.

Good lifting fellas...

And very nice video Sam, good stuff (i did notice the deliberate mistake though Grin)

Who would ever have thought FatPete would win by being a lightweight!?!?!?

I'm trying to work out what my mistake was - my OCD is playing hell with me! Was it inter-club (should have been intra-) or was it heavyweight instead of superheavyweight. I need to know!
