Hello everyone, found this site last week. Some really good articles and great laughs. Nice to see people not taking themselves to seriously.Happy A little about me i live and work in a gym in rural lincolnshire. Decided to give powerlifting a go again after a long hiatus. Will be taking part in the bdfpa singles in about seven weeks(better cut back on the guiness and pizzas). I have qualified for the bench and deadlift, so good news for all you 100kg lifters out there you won't come last. great site keep up the good work.

welcome to the boards man!

What kind of numbers are you moving now and what are you aiming to nail at the comp?

I've been meaning to get into BDFPA as well as BWLA... What competition did you qualify from?

I just joined via the form on the website. You need to be a member for three months before you can compete in British Championships. You'll get details of regional comps when you join. I'm doing a qualifier in Bradford Uni on Saturday. John Walker's lifting as well and Moz is coming over to help with my quick shirt changes (3 lifts, 3 shirts!). If you could get over you would meet lots of people and get a feel for the set up. Post Code is BD7 1DP. Or if you need more notice, the British Single Lifts are in Bradford Uni 14th/15th July.

My main reason for doing both is that I don't like doing bench only in an otherwise 3 lift comp and lifting in 2 feds gives me more competitive opportunities. Plus the world over 50s record is attainable. No plans to abandon BWLA!

Joni, for the singles uneqipped bench i would be happy with 160-165, deadlift(unequipped)250 and equipped just hoping to get the shirt on without to much troubleHappy
