No real question here, just after any advice anyone who has stayed around the same weight category for a while can give. Most of my gains in the past came alongside 4 litres of milk a day, so this new approach of getting stronger without consuming everything in sight is a bit new to me!!

How fast can you expect to get strong, what weight do you let yourself get to and any other advice!?

Expect nothing. It isnt a birth right. You earn it.

I have been around 90kg for my whole training career, just seems to be a weight I can maintain whatever, ie. eating, training etc.

I went from 135k squat raw- 215 with wraps from the 1st year of uni to the third
75k bench press - 120k raw
180k deadlift - 235k deadlift in the same time frame

So it can be done! I would add body composition changed though.

Alot of it has to do with training with some great guys in Adlington, Alan, Andy, Joe and FatPete helped a great deal..and listening to 90% of what they said and taking it to heart.

Im new to this aswell, im hoping consistent hard training will pay dividends within a year, i think reaching the qualifying standard for the nationals is a great achievement

i think its about 540 unequipped @ 90kg, cant find the spreadsheet thing on the BWLA site

I too am going to be strict with myself and not go higher than 90kg BW. I'm hoping since I'm a relative beginner that that still gives me plenty of headroom for strength gains. On verra.

I think BW shows more in bench than anything else.

If u wanna bench more, add weight and train triceps

If you're having to diet all the time, then you ain't going to be getting stronger anytime soon, and I would expect a diet of 4500-5000k cals to hold a 90kg frame. Which is quite a lot if you are not consuming empty calories, and it's enough to still make gains and be powerful.

Having said that though, when I was 90k, I kept a good diet ate every 2 hrs with quality protein and carbs at regular intervals, slept well but I was still weak as piss. It all depends on your build.

Well quite! OK so I've just had a piece of peanut butter on toast (+ 1 chocolate biscuit eaten while standing up so I don't need to count that). I think I'm on my way!

4000-5000 calories? I think I'd vomit eating that amount of clean food. My diet is very bad though, granted.Wink

i'm looking at the opposite thing to you Rob. I want my bodyweight to go up along with my strength. I have had trouble getting up above 103-4kg in the past.
Actuallly, when I rthink about this, it is more likely that I just haven't adjusted upwards enough my fod intake when I get to this weight, something I'll nail this time; This, allied to overcoming the "belly fear" will allow me to get up to 120 kg and then cut back down to 110kg, unless I bottle it first (morde than likely)

Rob, how did you find the whole consume huge amounts of milk thing?

It just got pretty natural to me once your body gets used to it. You s**t a lot at the start though, if you go for a milk binge I would build it up gradually and probably do some cardio too. I drank semi-skimmed as well, so it put a lot of fat on me, but it does get you big quick!
