Member 4269, 285 posts | Post Edited: 13.01.2013 @ 20:57 PM by stan2013 I'll be running a strongman competition on May 27th 2013 at the annual 'Great Harwood Agricultural Show' Great Harwood is 4 miles from Blackburn, Lancashire. 3 minutes drive from the motorway junction 7 on m65. The show is well sign posted when you come off the motorway. Last year this show brought in over 10,000 visitors. The competition will be a light/open. The events will be: - Car/Van Deadlift - for reps (weight to be confirmed) - 130kg Farmers - for 20 metres, back 20 metres with 280kg Frame Carry - Barrel Load - distance to be confirmed 4 x 100kg - Yolk 340kg - 15 metres down and 15 metres back up - Press Medley - 95kg Block, 100kg Log, 110kg Axle, 120kg Appollons axle, 130kg Super Axle - Stones over Yolk - 100kg from 5 metres out, 110kg - 4 metres, 120kg - 3 metres, 135kg -3 metres, 150kg -1 metre Prize money - 1st Place -£350 + Trophy 2nd Place - £250 + Trophy 3rd Place - £150 + Trophy 4th Place - £100 5th Place - £75 6th Place - £50 Plus an additional £25 per event win It will be £20 to enter the competition. T shirt will be provided on day. Athletes so far- Gary Gardiner - Newcastle (c) Tom Shaw - Newcastle (tbc) Mark Lawson - Durham (tbc) Mark Kingham - York (tbc) Ben France - Lancaster (c) Wayne Tunstall - Crewe (c) Danny Loudon - Great Harwood (c) Patrick McMahon - Lancaster (c) Dawid Waszkiewicz - Colchester (c) Mariusz Pilinski - Welshpool (c) Josh Ainsworth - Bolton (c) Damien Murphy - West Lothian (c) Simon Knowles - Mansfield (c) Kenny Simm - Edinburgh (c) Mark Hunter - Edinburgh (c) Plenty of places available. It's the week after Bodypower so there will be some big guys not end up doing it I expect. I was looking at this show but it's a bit far for a non qualifier for me, and the week after Bodypower I'll probably still be dead lol | ||
