still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14374 posts | OK You dont have a brilliant lockout. You know that. Is it a showstopper? No. Will it make OL more difficult for you? Yes. You have a weakness and weaknesses can be strengthened. Plenty of pressing, standing, incline, bench, partial lockouts. Anything. All of them. Also you're taking the bar out of the racks like its a heavy weight. When you take the bar out of the racks even with light weights do it like its a small weight. Get your chest up, shoulders out and drop your elbows a bit (for jerking only, you cleans are fine). Have a look at the last vid from Adders(Friday) and see how strong Wiggers takes the bar out of the racks. Thats what you want to be doing. | ||

I shall be working on it! To Right after not being able to get to the gym with a platform for a while due to transport i went today for a quickie. Also yesterday i did some squats worked up to 100kg x1 front squat which was not too bad, also did GM'S. 2nd snatch based session 3/07/08 Hang snatches barxlots 30x3 40x3 45x3 50xF 50x3 50x3 60xf 60x1 pb 65xf Im pleased! i was not feeling quick under the bar but today i smashed anything i did last session by many many kg's. SNBTN push jerk? 60x2 70x1 80x1 90xf Did not commit on the 90kg - i think its do-able! Then did naught (Gay) stuff like some - Incline DB press 35kg db's x9 32.5kg db's x6 30kg db's x10 30kg db's x8 Then even more naughty (gay) stuff face pulls and tri work VIDEO Im heading down to Manchester (stockport) tomorrow for an interview so i was gonna see if i could pop in to Adlington if you guys were gonna be there, but due to timing and the fact my mum's coming along its not gonna happen Tom | ||

One is south side (not far from Stockport, I believe), but the REAL one is almost in Chorley about 20 miles west of Manchester off the M61. So near yet so far. Dont worry though. Hey man! lol, i've started how i mean to continue! My height is just under 6' and im currently weighing in at around 87/88kg. I find the snatch requires more attention than the clean on the whole, it may be a personal thing though. The roughlines you've been given look good to me. | ||

I actually quite liked the routine in here http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/article-olympic-lifting.aspx but not the rep ranges! anyhoo i'll continue to take things as they come! Also i lied to you Mish - i actually weigh 84.5kg nekkid in the am. Right today - not feeling to clever after last nights antics but got alot better as the day went on! OH today Strict BB OHP - warmups 20x8 30x8 40x6 50x5 - working (well i was aiming for 5x4 with 60kg this week, last week i achieved 5x3 with 60kg and it was very tough) 60x3 - f**k 60x4 - more like it 60x4 60x4 60x4 60x3 - added in this set as i wanted 5x4 and thought i could but it was not to be. The 4th rep on each of those sets were absolute grinders took ages to get them up. then did some 1 arm db OHP DB rows needless to say i couldnt get to the gym with a platform. | ||

Not the best session to say the least, probably should have done cleans but snatches were the flavor of the day, i could not resist! Snatch 40x2 40x2 50x2 - 1 of which was a power snatch 50x2 - 1 of which was a power snatch 55x1 60xf - and the s**t begins 60xf 60x1 60x1 power 65x1 power 65xf 65x1 power 50x1 - made sure i went deep as i was not on most of the other sets. 70xf - not a chance!!! Hang snatch 50x3 50x1 - crap! called it a day there. The snatches sucked, i was not dropping under the bar like a had been previously when doing the hang snatches. Meh..... just need more practice! Then did OL GM's 60x10 60x12 60x12 60x12 60x12 easy - more a prehab exercise than anything today. Some rows and that was it | ||

Cleans looked good, only thing i'd say is maybe get your shoulders over the bar more in your starting position it will help get you in a better position for your top pull Get yourself down to Adlington any time mate, you'll be more than welcome and get some world class coaching into the bargain | ||
